Sounds pretty stupid, Han having a wife...
I wonder where Disney's taking this.

At any rate, I don't really care that much, I only consider movies canon anyway, regardless of what Disney says.

Only there's talk she may be referenced in TFA. The movies, comics, books and video games are all gonna be interwoven from now on. Which I'm fine with!

It's a bad idea because it limits what they can do creatively. It's going to get messy. Writers will have to keep track of all those things including timelines and even the dialogue in those stories when they are writing new material to make sure they don't contradict any events that are "canon". Only the films should be canon, and then have SOME comics or books be canon, not all of it, just pick and choose and put a "canon" label/symbol on it so that fans know what's "real".

For almost 25 years the EU was plastered around EU that tried to fit in, once Filoni came in with TCW I knew SW was done cause he contradicted timelines with Dark Horse comics and Books... Then when Disney acquired and Rebels came on I knew **** hit the fan... Enjoy your movie... by Disney... The same people who put the word Illuminati behind secret kid shows.

That's the whole reason they rebooted the canon, cos the EU was getting unwieldy. Now there's a Lucasfilm Story Group that determines the overall direction of the saga and creators can work within that. Obviously writers for the major films get the most latitude.
