How? How would you reach that conclusion just by that? Honest question.

I mean the descendants part is quite obvious, but the specific roles? Not saying you're wrong, just how?

Think about it: The family angle in Star Wars. The Skywalker connection to the Force, good and bad. A lost soul with a special connection to the Force who must seek out a master and whom is destined to balance it. It's been a riff played over and over. How else would this play out if you wrote it? It just seems so natural given the context of the storylines from the six movies.

Wow I wonder what Opening Day for this will be like

Bigger than TPM opening weekend because Disney is involved now. Global marketing celebration opening weekend

No no, all that I got since the characters were announced. I meant why Solo&Leia => Kylo and why Luke => Rey, I personally could see Kylo being the son of Luke just as easily, it also works for Luke being in exile.

Mark this post, watch me be right.
Witnessed.

Edit: it just clicked, you could be right.

Wished Kylo had a better voice

I thought he sounded better when I saw the talking toys of his character, but in the new trailer he sounds like he's trying to be Vader or something. The voice shouldn't be so deep, IMO. He would sound better if he had a normal voice, but he's probably going to be fighting without his helmet at some point during the film, so we'll probably going to hear his real voice, which is the one I heard on the toys, and it sounds a lot better, imo. I hate the mask though :lol

Yeah it makes no sense to make him sound like Vader, Vader sounded like that for a reason. This character is hiding

I added a bit more detail in my answer above... but I'm guessing on the actual relations. Clearly Kylo and Rey are meant to be the Force kids here, so a messed up kid seems to me like Han and Leia's kid :)lol) and the nice one who says "I'm nobody" strikes me as Luke's kid. He went into hiding and left her behind (likely forced to) while Han/Leia's kid basically went off on his own with an obsession based on his family history.

Rey could be a direct sister to Kylo I suppose but then Han/Leia would really look like lousy parents if they lost two kids. Kylo and Rey are both Skywalkers... Kylo is Leia's son, and Rey is Luke's daughter. The details may vary. But they are connected through lineage and blood and... the Force.

It makes sense, right?

I still think Kylo and Rey are both the Solo twins or siblings and there is a reason Rey is in hiding, not lost.

Han may not recognize her at first since he may not have seen her since she was born or a child.

Oh alright, I thought I was missing something totally obvious, but thinking a bit about it you could be right, see my edited post :lol

Clearly Rey isn't familiar with Han, which could mean he isn't her dad, which in turn could mean Kylo is Han's kid.

So based on that little your assessment is quite logical, I wouldn't be surprised if it's something else entirely though, they've done a very good job keeping the plot under wraps.

This was my first thought -- the brother/sister thing, very clean -- but thinking about it more, I started to lean towards Luke having a direct descendant.

Yeah, if that ends up being the case I could see Kylo being Luke's kid and Rey being a Solo.

But...

Rey's first name is supposed to be Kira. So Kira Rey and Kylo Ren both sound like twins or direct siblings to me.

:dunno

Whatever way it plays out, the fact is Kylo and Rey are related... with a "brother/sister", "yin/yang", "Luke/Vader" thing going on.

It could work either way I suppose... but if Han and Finn and Rey are searching for 'someone'... wouldn't that be Luke?

Maybe Luke slipped some midichlorians into her drink?

:lol

“The Force is calling to you. Just let it in.”...9 month later the chick is having an evil kid :lol

What are prequels?

She could be one of those midichlorians kids... but I don't think they want to go that way anymore.

Anyway, Anakin had kids and he was a Jedi.

He did, but they were keeping it a secret. Besides, Anakin was a "bad boy", and Luke is a goody-goody like Obi.
