I hadn't noticed, though it's obviously going to reference the OT more because it immediately precedes this one.

But as far as merchandising is concerned, from Lego to comics to trading cards, the PT is still well represented.

It does. It has been discussed before, even on some prop forums, that the duck appearance would have been less visible (or not visible at all) if there was a symmetrical set of mic tips and especially the middle vocorder.
