The only worthwhile movie in that top ten is TDK.
And I'm not a huge fan of it.

Could you imagine admitting this was your top 10 fav movies list :lol

I like some of the films on there.. But like I said... High ticket prices and 1000 of theaters showing these films makes the top grossing films not what they use to be.

hey I just noticed that Raiders of the Lost Ark is not even on top 20 adjusted for inflation total gross.. What the hell is wrong with people :lol

I went to the trouble of responding to your "10 Best Theatrical Movies of 2017" thread with each and every movie I saw at the theater yet do you care? Nope! :tap

;)

I’m happy that chart was whipped out just to say that crap movies are what populate the top 10 spots but you wasted your time lol

Not one supporter of TLJ ever said “TLJ is a great movie because it made over 1 billion!”

What the supporters said from the beginning was “Not in a million years could an over 200 million opening weekend movie that is the top domestic earner of 2017 (accomplished that in 17 days) and that will earn 1.2 + billion ever be considered a failure, brand killer or a movie with no support”

Of course there are stinkers that made over 1 billion.

TLJ just exceeded The Dark Knight's unadjusted/original domestic earnings FROM A DECADE AGO (but will never come close to TDK's inflation-adjusted total)...

And is likely on pace to just fall short of passing the unadjusted/original Avengers total FROM FIVE YEARS AGO (and will never come close to passing Avengers' inflation-adjusted total)...

And will settle at #6 all-time unadjusted, but will barely reach the top 40 all-time adjusted for inflation.

On a related note, worldwide TLJ has just passed the inflation-adjusted total of Attack of the Clones, but is yet to pass Minions.

Yep. Nor are any supporters (that I've seen here) even claiming it's a Top 3 SW flick. Just entertaining from beginning to end with 2-3 ESB quality moments here and there. Hell that's more than I'd ever demand from any new movie in the Saga. Far from being an embarrassment, travesty, etc. That just isn't the case and anyone who wants to claim otherwise is certainly free to but there isn't this huge tidal wave of credible support that agrees with you.

I love the "Ha ha random movie X beat TLJ in this country on this one day" posts. Seriously? Yeah that totally negates the fact that it's one of the top grossers in film history. :lol

I'm sure boxofficemojo will forever have an asterisk next to TLJ's name because some random Chinese romantic comedy outearned it one afternoon, lol.

"Did you see the Lakers/Celtics blowout? 103-12. Biggest route in NBA history!"

"Yeah but the Celtics still scored 12 points. *snicker*"

:cuckoo:
