I think that's inevitable... but Kylo has no idea that's his destiny yet. He wants to be evil powerful like Grandpa -- and finish what he started -- and ironically he will: he will stop the Dark Side... just like Grandpa did to the Emperor. And he'll die in order to accomplish it. His sacrifice so he can look pretty as a Force Ghost.
