There is a disconnect with our "main Hero's" (Rey, Finn & Poe) in these movies as they all have their separate stories (not journey's). Think about the narrative of ANH, there is a single linear line where characters are introduced periodically Leia, R2, C3P0, Luke, Ben, Han/Chewie to serve the main goal. We might not realize this but escaping the DEATH STAR fighting the two Tie Fighters is the "epicentre/heart" of the entire OT! Here for the first time and still strangers to each other, the forming of our "band". When ESB arrives and characters split up, we are OK with that since the characters and us shared the experience of ANH together. In ROTJ we have our reunion (you know how you felt when you saw them in the Imperial Shuttle together) and in our hearts know that Leia, R2, C3P0, Luke, Han & Chewie are our HOMEBASE!!! Our new characters have no relationship, yes Rey and Finn are friends but Rey has the bigger roll as she is discovering herself/identity. You can argue that Finn ignited this in Jakku but that ended when Rey discovered her powers on Star Killer base. The only story for Finn now is to "I have to help", "she needs my help", "there gonna need help", help, help help.....". Poe, well Poe is a soldier no different from Hux duty to the First Order, Poe's is to the Rebellion. Everything he has done, he has done within those lines. So when I hear he's the Han Solo of this trilogy, why? I can't make that connection aside from visually when he wears a somewhat Bespin Han jacket! But wait he fly's a Xwing like Luke?? I'm confused! Opinions aside of TLJ, the one scene, the WTF moment was at the very end of TLJ when Poe introduces himself to Rey. WTF so these two never met before? There is no HOMEBASE with these characters. Essentially when my kids play and set-up their action figures. Rey is in the living room, Finn is in the kitchen and Poe in the Bedroom playing out their separate stories!!

What are your thoughts?

Dang that's brutal.. As much as I didn't like the character it's not cool to get so personal on the actress... Removing it would be good. On the other hand theres a good chance she's not even aware of it

That's horrible, imagine how happy she must have been to be cast in Star Wars only to be personally attacked.

Becoming Rose....

I would have to disagree because Hamill’s anti Trump/Bannon rants are legendary then add in Kennedy with woman power Tshirt and the war is on!

Kennedy started a war by dragging social agendas and politics into SW where it had no business being in especially if you’re not going to perfectly integrate it in a respectful seamless manner that made sense to the overall plot.

You have to be pretty naive to think politics hasn’t now been dragged into this big franchise in a very big manner.

The RT score literally matches the election results!

Kennedy has SW blood on her hands for starting this war against a mostly all white male franchise.

RO/TFA was just the tip of the sword.

Then again Lucas had an anti Bush message in the PT, no?

Sorry to be cynical but its got me this far in life lol

You just might be right. :lol

:slap

Ask Snikt. :lol

very well said and to the point. KK knows she has a HUGE global platform with SW and she decided she'd slam her heavy political agenda into this film. Granted I could have forgiven a lot of this IF the movie was good, but it's a hot pile of garbage, which makes KK's political agenda even more annoying.

Good points. I too was surprised that Poe had not met Rey, yet they were both at the base at the end of TFA. So that was a bit odd, I have to watch again and see if he was part of the send off party at the end.

Very, very good points.

It's also weird to see how obsessed Finn is with Rey but she doesn't mention him for the entire movie as far as I recall.
I think it would have been nice to slowly create a proper love story between the two, but Rose was introduced to make sure that wouldn't happen. Unless JJ changes that in IX.

In TFA the movie, they don't meet, but in TFA the novelization (which is canon), they do.
Yet, in TLJ, they made it look like they had never met. Major mess up for the people in charge of making sure everything is coherent, and yeah that's an actual job at Lucasfilm but they screwed up with this one.

Going tonight to the 6 pm, weekday dinnertime show. I guess nobody got the message to stay home.

I would bet next week’s attendance when school’s out here will be better than this week’s dailies.

Not that box office equals quality. I am aware that the RT audience score is legit and every other indicator is a sham. I’m woke as a Snokeflake porgboy jabba the cuck.

Rian "*****" Johnson :lol

:lol

I’m jealous I want that for my middle name.

I mean yes her character sucked but seriously some people are bullies and will probably message her death threats and blow it way out of hand

Then some wonder why Kennedy wants to jettison some of the fan base into space I honestly wouldn’t put it past her for purposedly making a movie to get rid of said fan base from the franchise.

Lucas warned her what she was up against.

You get towed when parking your car in a no parking zone. You don’t get arrested and thrown in ja-ja-ja-ja-jail.

This movie is so dumb!!

Rose Rose Binks hahaha

Yeah I'll admit I laughed when I read that in the comments, some of them are genuinely hilarious. Some of it is really mean though.

The Jar Jar jokes are a staple of Star Wars at this point anyway.

I had assumed in the timeline of TFA when Rey arrive on the rebels base, revealing the map, changing her cloth BB8 would have made the introductions
