it's amazing reading these posts and reviews from fans (including me) straight up saying they won't go see more of these SW movies. I could have never imagined there would be a time when I wouldn't be lining up to see a new SW film with my kids on the opening weekend. WTF has happened LOL!!!

Two things: the movies have been consistently bad, and we're not little kids anymore.

TFA's two biggest days after opening weekend were Christmas day and the day after Christmas, where it earned $106m combined.

In numbers just released, TLJ is almost 50% below that figure - earning $55m combined on Christmas day and the day after.

This may suggest that TLJ's box office erosion is accelerating past the 30% lag it had been maintaining over the past week (on opening weekend it was only behind TFA by 10%-12%.)

TFA and TLJ are hard to day-by-day compare though: TLJ opened with a two extra days between release date and Christmas day which should increase its pre-Christmas day gross vs TFA (which it obviously didn't,) but also has the effect of burning off some pent-up demand before Christmas day arrives, thereby lowering TLJ's Christmas 2-day gross somewhat.

That is low and China will not be TLJ savior like it was for Spiderman Homecoming which opened with 70 million over there.

TLJ will still probably get to the numbers Clown mentioned a few days ago though.

I am glad you are back jyeboi. This place is not the same with you out. Im glad to see that sig back :lol

So I’m late to the party but how the hell did the “last” of the Resistence/Republic become like 30 people in a cave?

These movies are pretty solid, but I don’t like the story direction coming off of this. I think we need a movie in-between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens to explain how the New Republic F’ed up so bad.

I'm seeing all this hate for the broom kid, am I missing something here? I did go to the bathroom during the casino scene and from what I understand I may have missed another kid scene. Did something happen with broom kid in this scene?

It's just a spark, but it'll light the fire... eventually. Episode IX will likely flash forward to Rey training Broom Boy and the next generation of Jedi (conveniently explaining Leia's absence).

As someone who liked the prequels for being different, I admire Johnson's efforts to reimagine SW. Only he may have tried too hard/gone too far and lost the essence of what defines the saga.

Nope. We just hate the sickly sweet treacle forced upon us in that very last scene. Cause you know, when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true.

how many of us saw TFA twice in the theaters? I did... how many will see TLJ twice? based on RT reviews I bet that number is <50% vs TFA.

well all this negative energy towards Disney caused a transformer to explode at Disneyland today and the power was out with a completely sold out park. I feel bad for all the customers stuck all day at Disney with nothing to do... Karma?

They should get a few women on that power grid and get that problem fixed right away

Maybe get some asian chick and a black guy to run down the street to medieval times and release the horses out on the streets , maybe that will fix the power issue

Goofy review by Nostalgia Critic and Chrsi Stucrkmann

The reason I post it is because they both like the film and gave it good initial reviews but said after thinking about the film it had a lot of dumb stuff... But ultimately they enjoy it because it looks great and the good outweighs the bad..

Anyways they pick on the films flaws pretty good and figured the haters would enjoy yet another video poking fun at this film :lol

This is funny but misses the point... Vader and the Emperor had the power of the galactic Empire that was hunting down and killing the Jedi.

Luke just ran and hid because he felt bad..

I don't have the issue that others have with the Luke story in TLJ but just wanted to point out that its not the same thing.

Luke Skywalker is the HERO character whose personal but mythic journey forms the core of the Star Wars saga. Ben Kenobi and Yoda are MENTOR characters who exist solely to educate/train the HERO (mentors then usually die.)

The hero is also supposed to TRANSCEND the failures of their mentor (or even complete their partially fought battle.) The attempt to say that a hero's actions/decisions would mirror or follow those of his/her mentor (even if they are now much older) defeats the whole purpose of the mentor/hero interaction.

The whole POINT is that Luke DIDN'T follow what Yoda told him, and DIDN'T do what Ben did in his past.

Trying to transition a HERO character into a MENTOR character (simply because he's older) within the same continuing storyline is somewhat problematic, and seems to be the core of most of the issues with TLJ, coupled with the lack of clarity about the new hero character Rey (origins, abilities, what her character journey is supposed to be exactly etc.)

The test for protagonists should be why this particular character goes on this particular journey (linking to the struggle/conflict) - for Luke it was clear: his father/family connections, and the fact that he was "just a boy" needing to do big things to follow his path with limited to no skills. Rey seems to have no personal connection to the bigger ST story and seems to have staggering force abilities (therefore no need for a mentor,) so really has no problem on the path - either personal inner conflict or outer physical conflict.

Even though he had somewhat mellowed with age, Han Solo in TFA simply played a much older version of his character type from the OT. Luke is totally different in every way.

Saw TFA five times and RO four. Only seen TLJ twice and I will not go again.

Good point, Yoda & Ben were regrouping because they had to for the survival of the Jedi.

Why is a beloved droid character now a ****ing mass murderer? Artoo and Threepio never did anything like that.
