I doubt there are any OTG members here but i would also like to say if you ever see any OTG (Old timers guild) either Sith Empire or Galactic Republic (as we will have both and the guilds are now formed) and you want some company give em a shout. We have about 300 odd people signed up for going live atm for a # PvE # English, US East (EST) server.

Count me in.

I have no experience with MMO games. Are they PC only? How much can we expect it to cost? Do they charge monthly subscriptions? Do you have to buy stuff or be handicapped if you don't?

Most are PC only. This one is too.

Game will likely be $50-$60

Monthly subscription will be likely and are usually $15 a month. First month is usually included with purchase of game.

Most MMO games do not require you to buy anything outside extra to use or play in the game to get the full game experience. Some do like Star Trek online which sucks. This one likely will not.

They are usually PC only, there are only a handful that are available on consoles. This one will be PC only.

Subscription costs may vary, maybe $10-$15 a month, although some games offer the option to pay like $200 to be able to play it forever without any more costs (good if you plan to play it more than 2 years).

Lately there are free to play games, where usually the whole game is free, without any requirements to pay money. But there are options to buy stuff in the game without earning it, like buying gold or items. Otherwise you would be able to earn the gold or items on your own, but it would take more time.

It hasn't been announced whether this game will have a subscription fee or free-to-play

:lecture Right on.

I'm really looking forward to this. I hope they release a beta or free trial that we can play before it releases so I know how it'll run on my PC. My computer can handle World of Warcraft pretty well, so I'm hoping that this plays alright.

They're designing this so that it can play on a wide-range of systems, which is why it has a sort of stylized look rather than trying to look photo realistic.

If they go on a normal development plan, they'll have closed beta you can sign up for (and hopefully get accepted) and then later they will have an open beta that anyone can enter, usually that's done close to the full release to test the system running large numbers of players.
