they compare kun to Vader on lvl of badassery. how can he not be a true sith? Vader has more blood on his hands than any other sith in the SW galaxy. I'm not trying to start a debate.

back to the game

Just my opinion. He went to the darkside for a girl. (true sith don't do that:lol) He was always fighting the "good in him" it seems. While most Sith have none. He was a sith don't get me wrong, just a troubled and doubtful one IMO.

If you want to get technical, Vader was NEVER a true sith. He went over to the dark side in order to save someone he loved, not for personal gain and power. He always had a Jedi still in him. Rise of Darth Vader said that Vader could never go back to Tatooine because if he did, he knew that the little piece of Anakin that was still in him would awaken and he couldn't face that fear and heartbreak. I put Vader and Ulic Qel-Droma in the same boat. They were "Sith", but at the same time still "Jedi" and were both redeemed before they died.

IF you want to get technical, there hadn't been a "true sith" since thousands of years before the rise of the sith empire, which was thousands of years before the invasion of the republic. so all of your favorite "true siths" were not true siths at all.

And Vader didnt go over to the dark side, he was lured by darth sidious. sidious used his emotions against him, sidious knew that these strong emotions were pivotal for a sith lord.

"What fuels your power with the Force but your passion? The stronger, darker emotions. Anger, hatred, fear… these passions empower us." Yuthura Ban

Weren't the original Sith some race that the Dark Jedi ran into?

Yup. After the Hundred Years Darkness war the surviving Dark Jedi were expelled from the Republic and they found their way to Korriban (or was it Ziost?) and enslaved the Sith race and became the Dark Lords of the Sith or something along those lines. Eventually Naga Sadow decived the Sith into thinking they were being invaded by the Republic when some travelers fornd their way to Korriban so Naga Sadow was probably the first "Sith Lord" to attack the Republic.

Its a question i have for years and i cant find any good answer but what is the difference between dark jedi and sith?

kinda sorta... not really. You're close, but there is alot more to it.

in the EU, there is a "jedi civil war" reffered to as "the rift" or "the division". Basicly, THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS ( like 10-15K years or so) of years back, the "light side jedi" and the "dark side Jedi" worked together. Those that used the light siade focues on drawing on the power of the universe, and those that used the dark side Drew upon the power of the self.
Those who used the poweres of the universe had a very Zen-like existances, and those who ued the poers of the self were very... passionate. the problem was that in manny cases the useres of the power of the self would become unstable. As such, the jedi council ( generaly made up entirely of "light siders") Decides to abandon the teaching of the way of the self, and outlaw it. this is what spark a war between the two factions, which eventualy leads the "dark jedi" to being driven off ossus, and out of the galaxy.

the dark jedi eventualy come to the parts of the galaxy controled by the sith race. The sith race practieced use of the dark side of the force, Alchemy, and "sorcery". the sith culture Has been descrived as a fairly...agresive group of people ( think Klingons, without the honor mentality) Over a few thousand years the Dark jedi and sith Cultures slowly shared ideas and intermingleld untill both cultures beacme one. same ideals, same practices, same everything. One of the few constats was the hatrid of the jedi. the Dark Jedi's unfair treatment at the hands of their opressors, etc etc etc.

At which point Naga Sado steps in and does his thing, and the rest is history.

Funny thing, Naga Sadow in the long run regrets doing this.

the sith is a culture, it has a history, a homeworld, an identity.

A dark jedi is simply a jedi who instead of focusing outwordly and drawing on the powers of the universe for their abilities, Focuses inword using his emotions, and his passions for power.

the reason the sith seem so much more powerful than jedi is that it is easier to use the abilites of the force using your own energy. using the energy of the universe takes years and YEARS of practice, but generaly leads to more power, as you have better control of your abilities.
However, using the power of the self is far more draining, causin the useres to rapidly age ( think Emperor in jedi, or vader under the mask. And remember There was only 18ish years between ROTS, and ROTJ. )

so in short.
Jedi only uses the Light side, are emtionaly stable, or devoid of emotion. and take LONGER to become incredably powerful. They also have the possibiity to surpas their potential for power use.

Dark Jedi Use lght and Dark side, are generaly Emotionaly unstable, EXTREMELY passionate about what they do, and Become incredably powerful Much much faster, but are limited to their own potential

there, and Comics, and novels, and Tabeltop RPG sourcebooks and Old goofy collector cards, and Wookiepedia, and video games, Star wars "essential gudes" etc. . the stuff is EVERYWHERE. and it's a massive task to find it all. I grew up with the dakr horse EU comics, ALOT of it is there. Another big problem is that ALOT of it contradicts itself. so you've kinda got to read through it all, and figure out what makes sense. it's kinda like rediscovering hisrty. some "facts" some Fiction" all of it there, and you've got to figure out what's what.

for what it's worth, the tabeltop RPG books are some of THE BEST complied information out there.

This game does not have a scheduled release date. (i thought someone said 4th qtr but thats just a rumor)

Bioware said they were aiming for a winter 09 release date when they FINALY announced the game. So i'll stick by what i said about 4th Q 09.

But as we all know, Release dates DO have a way of changing, whither or not they're "official"

"Official" release dates are whenever it winds up in the store, REGARDLESS of what the PR department says.

Link? source?

I would love for a 4th qtr release. (in fact i can't stop thinking about this game, i had such a fun time in galaxies i want to relive that)

... no longer isted in their Press release. Typical Lucasarts.
As of now, it appears to have a UK release planned for january 2010. Though that might just be heresay.

Lets not forget that Bioware has been working on this since 2005 and a 3 year development period is pretty standard. si i'll still go with a q4 2009, to q1 2010. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

I really would love to hear something concrete. The anticipation is killing me.

If it is this 4th qtr i would think beta would be happening this summer.

I wouldn't hold your breathe for any release date announced. Remember, The Force Unleashed was released like a year after they said it was.
