I like the design.

It's like a weird deformed version of a clown rather than an actually clown....

If you know the story that makes sense....it's a *******ized illusion of a clown.

I personally think it's unsettling .

It was like watching a train wreck...I couldn't turn away! :lol :panic: :lol

Yup...............same reaction.....Its nuts

Comment on It Trailer 3: don't recall a clown room from the books, but that's ok.....it was pretty creepy. I do not need an adaptation to be just an adaptation. Some changes are good.......as long as the spirit of the story is intact and the new material don't leave the playing field, i am all for it.

Can't wait. Really want this to be good, and it seems like it will.

So for those that have read the book, at about the halfway point when we discover that pennywise or some similar form appears ever 27 years or so, we get an actual name to Pennywise or so I thought: Robert Grey. But later, we find its an actual creature. I don't think confirming IT is a true IT is a spoiler, but apologizes otherwise. What was the point of the name Robert Grey? That has always bugged me. At first I thought we were gonna discover that Pennywise or Robert Grey had a humble origin story, kinda like Freddy Krueger was just a man.....

King never expounds on it. There was a Mr. Gray in Dreamcatcher (which took place very close to Derry) and that's also where we get a LOT of IT references. They stumble upon the plaque with all the Loser's Club names on it. Plaque was made by them for all the lost/murdered kids in Derry.

It read:

TO THOSE LOST IN THE STORM

MAY 31, 1985

AND TO THE CHILDREN

ALL THE CHILDREN

LOVE FROM BILL, BEN, BEV,

EDDIE, RICHIE, STAN, MIKE

THE LOSERS’ CLUB

But in Dreamcatcher you also see that it's been defaced with spray paint....and it says:

PENNYWISE LIVES

As to why IT said that Robert Grey was his true name? Not sure. Probably just an alias or the 1st human name he ever took on.

Ok, thanks for the info. I've never read the king books in order released. Read Insomnia when it first hit and one of my first king books, which was odd looking back on it. Any and all references to IT would have meant nothing to me at that time. Very curious to the other books in or near Derry

Has it been discussed if we'll potentially see some of its other forms?

Hopefully, as there was at least one other major incarnation of IT. We shall see. I just hope the final reveal isn't a CGI laden 'everything but the kitchen sink' approach to the movie finale, as seems to be the case with so many movies nowadays

There are SO many mentions of Derry in a lot of his other works. I think there's like 6 or 7 books that are also actually set there. Insomnia was one of them, so was Bag of Bones and Dreamcatcher.

But there are also so many crazy weird connections to his other works.

For Instance. The Shining.

Mike's Dad from IT, Will, was in the Army with D ick Hallorann. D ick was at The Black Spot (in IT) when the fire happened. He survived left the Army and became the cook that was in The Shining. The one who helped Danny throughout the book and movie (though Jack killed him with an axe in the film, he actually survived in the book).

King has a ton of connections in his universe. The small details are really amazing. There's actually another creature that is the same species from IT in the Dark Tower series.

King was doing a shared universe before it was cool lol.

EDIT: Thanks for the rep Oh HELL No! Much appreciated!

2nd EDIT: why is **** censored? Lol, it's a legit name. Having to space D ick out is silly.

The creature is Dandelo.....which appears in a few of Kings other works like the Dark Tower.....

The initials RG are used alot in Kings works in reference to villians......Kings master works it that he is tying all his books together in the Dark Tower and beyond....
Be wAre thar be spoilers ahead...
