Because the people who produced 40 hours of audio don't owe you anything.

Well yea but still . It's strange to charge that much but then again this was a 7hr vid for just chap 1-5. I may just get the damn book.

Saw this a second time last night at an IMAX. Enjoyed it far more this time around- huge screen, BOOMING sound that enhanced the scares, no *****ty audience, and I was able to pay attention to more of the subtleties and found a number of nods to the storyline etc that I didn't see the first time around.

I finally saw this yesterday. It's one of the better remakes, but that doesn't say a whole hellva lot. I think too much of what made Pennywise in this was too reliant on CGI, and not his acting, which sometimes sounded like he was doing a Scooby Doo impression. While I had no dog in the fight for the original since I've only seen both parts once, I still prefer the original over this.

That being said, there's a few genuine creepy shots and sequences in this but I feel it's severely undercut with lazy CGI.

Maybe part of the reason I liked it, is while I read the book, I never saw the miniseries.

Always thought the miniseries looked very cheesy, and I tend to dislike network TV miniseries, especially back then.

Yeah I'm not crazy about the miniseries and it is full of cheese. But I think Curry's personality is the only part of it I liked. He's a lot like Freddy, but different enough to be his own thing. I like how he often gets angry and right in the camera.
