I never read it but i dont like reading books. I might try to find it online, easier to read on my phone

You can get a free 30 day trial of the Audible app from amazon. You get one credit (good for one audiobook). Once you download it it's yours even after the trial expires. IT is read by Stephen Weber (from the sitcom Wings and the Shining TV movie) and he really gives it hell. Fun to listen in the car.

Thats a great idea.

Well , I read that the actor's (Pennywise) age is closer to the kids age when they grow up as opposed to Curry who was in his 40's or 50's. To make it more appealing or something.

In the book, do they ever explain why he became a clown or where did he get the inspiration?

There's a lot of history to what IT is though they keep that pretty simple - IT finds that form disarms (no pun intended) many children. What's some how creepier to me is that the clown also calls itself Bob Gray sometimes.

Real life inspirationmay have been John Wayne Gacy, aka Pogo the Clown - serial killer of young men and boys.

So did IT looked inside the minds of the kids? Or did IT looked at a pic of a random clown or something?

The clown isn't specifically explained in the book - just the go-to form to get close. But it does get into the kids' heads and exploit their personal fears. It sometimes appears as different things to different people at the same time.

It's been awhile since I read the book, but I don't remember any of that being explained. I do remember that it has been here for some 100 years. How it presented itself in the beginning I do not know. May have to read the book again.

Thanks. I was just curious if the mini series or the movie were taking any clues from the book for the look
