There's reports of people having both the arms and legs tear on this one. Sucks

Please provide these in here if you can. So far I havent seen any real confirmed reports at all.
Lawrence is the first case Ive seen with some proper feedback. The other pic Ive seen around seems to be a pic with nothing to back up till even this day. Ive even had Storm comment on that pic as well and it could be a hate attack on them.

Im not saying if this is true or a lie. I just like to hear more and see more before things blow up.
Plus if this is a widespread issue, then Id also like to gather as much info so I can present this to Storm so they know not to use this material in the future.

My order at BBTS is processing. Once i get mine I'll look at it out of the box to make sure its ok. I would be afraid to bend anything that is for sure.

Yeah I hear ya. I didnt want to do that with my figure either considering the nature of seamless bodies.
Good thing is you have decent return policies with BBTS so if anything happens you should be covered.

Things to look out when handling the figure are paint rubs which is normal. Gentle with the head motions as well as moving arms at the shoulders. Plus when inserting and pulling out hands and feet.

Theres a video on youtube showing how to handle the body.

I read some comments on YouTube, and can't remember where else, but know for a fact that I have read about the issue before. Take my word or not, I'm just trying to help people that are about to drop assloads of money on something that deteriorates. But then again, everybody makes excuses for hot toys, so.......

If its from youtube, could it be the comments mentioned here on page 110? If so, thats been explained already.
Im not knocking you, I just like to see where these were coming from. Any info good or bad would be beneficial in making a better product.

If the product is really **** then so be it. Im not one to argue. Everyones case is different to others. If Im a collector with the intention of displaying a product in action poses then I can understand why they dont want to see this sort of thing happening.

Even if I like my figures in museum pose, I wouldnt want this to happen to mine either.

All Im saying is the more input that people put out there for this, we can then get a better idea if this is a wide known issue and hopefully Storm can take it up and rectify it with future release. Im not sticking up for them or anything.

No offense taken. I'm just tired of these companies pushing their prices and giving us inferior items that fall apart. They should have just stuck with their first bodies design. It was hard plastic

Thats cool. Yeah I agree prices are getting higher, but quality wise is a different matter. We all want to justify the price increase. Its our nature.

I hear both sides where some want normal bodies, and some want seamless. Its hard to cater to all. The thing I like about Storm is they create a unique body for each personality. Its what makes their name in this hobby. Apart from headsculpts and ips that other companies wont tackle, its a refreshing change to see they will make distinctive bodies to go with their products. I really cant fault much with this figure, its just how the new materials used for the body is unknown. How it reacts over time, or in use. If Storm can perfect this then its a winner for the rest of the figures to come in this hobby.

Wonder how many years it will take to find a better material or some sort of technique for seamless bodies.

I hope when they make their 1/6 Bruce Lee, they would reach a better understanding of this material. Hence any info gathered now about it is a plus.

That's pretty bad that we have to get spare bodies to pose him, it's terrible he is deteriorating so fast when posed for a figure $ as much as it is we shouldn't have to deal with this. I'm thinking of cancelling my pile of loot at BBTS with him very disappointed.

Hey Lawrence,

How about the legs? Anything happen to those during or at the end of the 3 day trial?
It wasn't meant to be a 3 day trial. I kinda expected it to be longer :lol

I did play around with the legs, but they simply look warped when bent too much, so I didn't really see the point of leaving them extremely bent, simply to test it's durability, when it wouldn't look that good displayed that way. Right now I think they are at around a 45 degree bend, where they look good.

Even though my spare Tyson body is already showing "wear & tear", I'm still excited for my regular set from BBTS.

haha you know what I meant, lasted 3 days then.

Yeah its all that rubber scrunched up so it would look horrible. The only time where I can see it bend more than 45 degree is when hes sitting down on a chair or something. Hope everyone that gets theirs soon will be able to share their experience in here too.

If you find any more issues or suggestions, please post them up here. Pics would be nice too.

Day 3 of keeping my Tyson body posed like this:

Checking right arm, maybe a bit of residue & wrinkling, but still looking alright.

Checking left arm, oops, already has a hole in it :slap

Not too happy about it, but at least I have a spare body I can pose in a fighting stance on the shelf. If you want to keep your Tyson body mint, I guess it's straight arm poses for your display.

Edit: I was already thinking about it, but I think it might be time to cancel my Olympic pre order.

cheers for the experiment lawrence, feel as tho we all owe ya in way for that.:hi5: salute!

incredibly disappointing, i cant even fathom releasing a product at this pricepoint with such a glaring problem waiting to happen.
:slap
museum pose it is but to be honest if i had seen all this before i purchased i wouldnt have, its not acceptable IMO.
really interested to see what they would say in a reply to what lawrence posted. like is that cool with them? 3 days and that? is it a shock?
:dunno

Someone, somehow will eventually have to go through this process of testing it out. Should have been Storm doing that in the first place.

I think if Storm knew about this, they would not want to release this either. Thats what I would hope they would think.
Plus it would be nice to see how everyone elses figures behave straight out of the box.

Reason I say this is because Lawrence bought his spare body separately, so we wont know if anything else has been done to the body before he received it. Could it been mishandled before being sent or something else? Who knows....just saying thats all. Anythings possible.

Sounds like im trying to make excuses for anything now. lol.

I would have thought Storm Collectibles would have tested the rubber body? I have a feeling Storm Collectibles will have a big problem if these issues are widespread. Makes me wonder about Hulk Hogan now. Chockles is Hogan out yet?

I also would had hoped they tested this thoroughly during development as well as the final production piece. However even I don't know about this and I probs doubt they would tell me this either. This material aspect is the only thing we just dont know anything about. Hence why we need to find all the problems or as much as possible before they work on Hogan for example. That is why I would like to hear everyones thoughts that has the figure in hand. Once theres enough data out there, I could bring that up to Storm and hopefully it could influence them and prevent issues like that with Hogan and others.

Hogan isnt out yet. They didnt mention anything about this to me. Just quickly showed a bunch of Ryu pics the other day as we were both on the street and didnt have much time to hang around. Plus I raised the shipping concerns about BBTS with them.

yeah shocking it wasnt tested by storm, agreed. would hope they would think the same as well but based on what we seen here via lawrence im skeptical.
as he said bod came from toy anxiety, they have been parting out figures for ages im sure they didnt handle/pose it at all picked it up from box and carefully packed it and shipped it to him. to me this is pretty black and white now in my opinion. pose for any length of time and it rips. i salute him cuz now we know for sure. def not gonna be under the assumption the bod i have is any better than the one he has or even consider some sort of idea that evolves toy anxiety being rough with it.

storm did not go the extra step in prod, did not test the bod out like this. to me thats my take away. will keep that in mind when dealing with storm in the future. will enjoy my museum pose tyosn and if i pose it will be for a short amount of time before returning to museum but even then i think its gonan rip evetually, ha! no faith in storm now lol.

ahhh well the museum walking to ring pose looks bad-ass at least

Thats a very fair comment. We can agree that Storm could and should have done better with QCing the body more. Even if it meant delays, at least a certain percentage should have been met before going public with the figure. Fingers cross things will improve for the next releases.
If more and more users continue to have this issue then I'll be sure to let them know that this is a problem and must be put at top priority for figures like hogan and bruce lee that would actually require more articulation that tyson.

As for the spare body from toy anxiety, since they have been doing this selling method for a long time, it wont make sense just to mess around with a single body and pass that onto customers. thats just bad business if users caught on. Even though I def. seen that happen many times in HK local retailers. palming off 2nd hand toys as new.

again must say thanks to lawrence for doing this. i would like to as well if i had access to a few spare bodies. lol
from the offset my aim was just to keep at museum pose, as this was a concern for me. however like all recommendations, only pose for photos and then quickly back to neutral pose.

im eager to see a few more comments from owners of this figure. since bbts carries a decent return policy, it will be interesting how many of these tysons gets returned, if any.

Toy Anxiety does not pose their parts, this body came straight out of the box which means it was a pristine new body, never used which means this is a serious problem. This figure was presented, marketed and sold as a poseable figure which means Storm should be held responsible for REPLACING defective bodies.

Hot Toys ran into this problem with an early DX - leaking rubber. In any event, this was probably NOT a manufacturing defect, it was a defect in the material chosen so I think they should replace any( and that may become a major recall) defective bodies.
