How can some be justifying this by blaming the collector? The first few posts after the damaged pics you see it right away.... Was it in direct sunlight?? how did you handle it?? its been out for around a month no?? This is worse that HT.

From OSR he had it posed for 2 weeks

I guess Im looking at a different post. The post I saw is from someone named Andrew (he must had shared the original posters pics). Correct me if Im wrong.

Hey guys,

I just got off the phone with the Storm guys and had a decent chat about the Tyson issue. First things first, Lawrence, get in touch with Storm at [email protected] and quote my name. Send your pics in and explain your situation. They will help you out in this situation. I have explained your case to them and they have given me some feedback as well. I dont want to discuss them openly in here so either PM me or contact them directly to proceed.

Something that I have to say to everyone, new and old, is that please look at the video posted by budget stark on how to handle the figure. Also, these bodies have had extra layers of paint added on top of the body hence why extra care must be taken to prevent paint rub. PLEASE DO THIS!!!

Also do not go over the limit when bending these figures, an x amount of leeway has been considered in the arms and legs and thus if you go over that amount, trouble is bound to happen.

For the facebook post today, they are not certain but it seems like it could be the same poster that gave them hassle a few days back at another chinese forum. Storm will not follow up that case.

If you guys have any doubt, please voice out in here and I'll do what I can to help.

Note, I do not, do not work for Storm so if you have nothing to add to help others, then please ignore what I say and move on. Thanks.

They werent you comments in particular just random ones throughout the thread. I think by now, anyone that collects 1/6 should know the problems that can occur if you purchase a fig with a rubber body. But even like this, a fig tearing like this after only a few weeks after it has been released is inexcusable. Given, we still dont know how the body was handled, but i think if more collectors continue having the same problems, SC has to address this issue

Oh right. You meant this thread. I thought you were referring to the facebook post.

I have noticed alot of those comments as well in here, but I will just ignore those for now as one, they dont have the figure in hand to actually give any valid points and contribute. Two, its nice of them to ask as this opens up more discussion, however jumping into conclusions with just pictures alone isn't helping the situation at all.

I have mentioned before that I want to see the whole picture and wait for more feedback so I can collate them and present to Storm to see how they use this info to good use for their future figures etc.

For those that have the figures in hand and have problems which so far is only Lawrence. I am trying to work out what is causing these issues with him.
So far its just been exchange of words and expressions of the figure.

Its only just now that I decided to chat with Storm and come up with ideas or hear their thoughts of this whole thing. So far like I said a couple of posts back is that everyone should really research how to handle the figure. Doesnt matter if you are old or new in this hobby. To watch the video on youtube.

Now I just want Lawrence to contact Storm so his figure can be sorted out.

Storm and I believe that the waist issue looks most likely to be a glue issue rather than splitting. As for the arms, like you said, its hard to say how everyone handles their figure, but not to accuse Lawrence, the photo might indicate that the arm might have been bent more than its allowed to go.

Anyways, the thing is Storm is handling the case. I would only go into further detail with Lawrence as its his case.

Wow, I cancelled this a few months back due to lack of funds for this. I wanted a Tyson figure that I could pose dynamically. I guess I will just stick to my Stormtoys Version 2.0 that I received a few years ago. The sculpt of this figure is crazy good, but man rubber bodies are risky anyway you look at it.

That's fine but I'd PREFER to hear from Storm Collectibles DIRECTLY re: this figure.

I received mine and it's still sealed in the shipper because I don't know what to do with this figure if it is ALSO defective. Too many isolated issues regarding cracking, tearing, splitting and holes opening seem to be more common as time passes.

Do send them an email directly and good luck with your response. Please update us in here if you hear anything from them.
If you find any issues, send them an email again and they will offer a replacement. However, as a guide, please watch that youtube video and understand how to handle the body.

Why should I send them anything? This issue should be incumbent upon THEM to address and get ahead of this issue.

THEY should tell us and all their dealers what their policy is regarding defective figures and how THEY will resolve it.

Like I said to your last message. You should really send them exactly what you think to them.

So far this isn't even a wide mass issue as of yet. Comments on Facebook are blowing this out of proportions. Yes there are one or two cases that may have issues here and there however Storm have offered replacements for these and will do so.

All it takes is to send them an email with your issue/s and you aren't even willing to do that?

Will deterioration of the rubber body occur if you keep Tyson in a permanent museum pose?

I see that all the problems have occurred with collectors who have tried dynamic poses but just curious if it's possible the figure will naturally start falling apart over the course of time in a museum pose.

I recall a previous thread with Hot Toys rubber suits (I believe Batman Begins and Watchmen) either cracking or melting/leaking with an oil residue.

If I said never, you would never believe me. All toys eventually have some sort of issues over the time.

Let me put it this way. I have also seen many pictures and feedback that people did not have any problems from day of release when they posed their Tyson figure in dynamic as well as museum poses.

This figure has only been out for a couple of months and I have not noticed any issues in museum poses posed over the course of time as you call it. Answering specifically to a specific question of yours.

There are no oil leak, the only time you get residue is when you bend the arms and relax them. This is normal and a careful wipe is all its needed.

I cannot speak for all in here so I can only ask you to observe more on the net. There have been many positives and yet a picture or two on the net has been on blast.

There will always be issues out there but how often is the question we ask and want to know. The figure is starting to get into the majority of hands now so I would suggest wait and actually observe.

I cannot say this enough but watch the YouTube video out there on how to handle the body and yes storm will offer help if there's issues. Just contact them through their email. They will offer replacement if needed and if there's stock to replace.

I don't want to sound bias so if anyone with figures have feedback please input as well. Thanks.

Ric no longer make video so we have no clue. I think he is a member of this forum. If you reading this, Ric, how is your holding up!?!

Hmm I paid for mine from BBTS but its in my pile of loot. I am getting a little worry.

I believe Rick the Clipper King also got the Mike Tyson figure and has had it for awhile. I wonder how his is holding up since he was one of the first ones I believe to receive it.

Yes he is considered one of the early ones getting the figure as his version is the Toy Souls HK version and he got his from Budget Stark. Not sure if he still has it in his collection or sold it on, but its worth having his input in here. His overall expereince of the figure after a few months.

The same applies to those that got the early ones as well. You know who you are:) Of course, its up to them if they wish to voice out.

Im not sure what is there to worry about? You have bought it and you obviously wanted the figure in the first place. I can understand if you feel BBTS or the company would not offer after sales service, but no worries there, as Storm have told me that if you have any issues, contact them directly at their email and they will work it out with you. Much better than going through BBTS and then anticipating them to work it out with Storm.

Only thing to note is, please look at the video from budget stark to get a better understanding of the figure and due to chinese new years, with the factories closed, there could be a delay in sorting out replacement figures if needed.

Oh wow. Got my figure from BBTS. Very nice. I'm in the middle of setting it up on the faulty body for now. As per usual, it's a different feeling seeing (& feeling) it in person, than seeing it in pics. If you're concerned about the rubber body, this in a museum pose, still looks mint.

For you out there who have the older Storm Toys Mike Tyson, the sculpts look good on that body, although it needs a compatible neck joint to stick on the body (something I haven't done yet). The colour shade isn't too different to me, & you can pose that body without worrying about rubber issues :lol

I might try to get some pics of that up, some time later maybe, unless someone does it before me.
