yeah I know. Wasn't 100% accurate, but had fond memories of that with the charity events and the many kids' happy faces just to see all of us in costume. Fun times and I do miss it.

The Speeder Bike PF is a thing of beauty. Nothing else in the line even comes close.

QFT! :lecture

Flexpay was a godsend. Sure wasn't easy to for over over $200+/month for 3 months. Now I'd say forget it with everything I got going on, but I'm certainly glad I got it when it was first offered. I was sold when I saw that at CIV. Absolutely blown away. No photo does it justice compared to seeing it in person.

Stormtrooper differ from movie to movie like Vader differs from movie to movie. Funnily enough Stormies differ one from another, but some of the details that are on ANH are not exactly the same on ESB and surely not on ROTJ.

Just check out here: https://www.starwarshelmets.com/original-stormtrooper-comparisons.htm, Jez had the chance to personally review some of the original ILM movie used helmets

Those sites are destroying ANY magic. But there useful for complaining about details ...

OH!!! I will never give up on it I just don't know how much longer I will have to wait before I can afford it. Once I was able to afford the flex pay I went to SSC and it was sold out after sitting there for like three years. Now I'm on the wait list which I'm afraid will never happen. Now I'm saving for the whole thing and hopefully I will find one that isn't too over priced that I still can't afford it. Such is the life of a collector. :panic: :panic: :panic: :panic:

Those site are the best place to find out what and how Star Wars was made in the first place. If there weren't for passionate fans like Jez and others we'd still have the Rubies helmets as the most accurate. LOL For some people they still are...

Reading how these helmets (and SW props in general) really look both inside and outside, and how they were made back then, is the real magic of Star Wars - making such great things with a lot of imagination. For example the new found original AT-AT Driver helmet (the one which was not stolen), which was gray instead of white as thought, made a big change in the 501st Armored Cavalry vision and most of 501st guys are very happy with a site like that.

No one said the PF should be 100% accurate to the movie used armor and helmet. But again we are not talking about a $20 action figure, or a Vintage Kenner figure which was excellent a few decades ago. These are statues that worth $300 and the customers evolved, as well as the information is more available today than it was before. And since Gentle Giant was able to do a superb Stormtrooper bust and even Kotobukiya managed to make an approximate accurate Stormie statue (though the pose was weird) why not Sideshow. They really are able to.

The imperfections are exactly the cool part about Stormtroopers compared to Clones. Clones are computer generated characters and they are perfect in everything: how they look, how the move on screen etc. Stormtoopers were real people inside badly made asymmetrical armors and helmets, which were very uncomfortable and hot - just imagine shooting the scenes under the Tunisian burning sun - I was there so I know how it must have felt for the poor actors. That is what makes Stormtroopers (and OT Vader if that matters) unique compared to Clones.

Of course on a scaled item you cannot make all the dents, bumps and imperfections present as on a 1:1 prop, nobody is asking for this, because would look weird too. But there are still a few things that SS could have done better, exactly like GG and Koto. Make a perfectly symmetrical helmet, but at least look at it from all angles, and see if it looks ok. Even GG missed the point with their new Stormie statue, instead of using the old cool bust sculpt they made another odd looking one.

Do not forget the Stormtroopers and Vader are among the most iconic characters of all time - not many people in Tunisia Know about Star Wars there, but there were a few that seeing my Stormtrooper T-shirt I had with me there simply said: "Guerre des étoiles" (Star Wars in French, because most of the people there speak French). So they knew what was on my T-shirt and it didn't say SW anywhere on it, just a picture of a Stormtrooper helmet.

This doesn't mean I don't like this statue, indeed it might not be perfect, but still it is very cool. I'm getting the Stormie PF, already pre-ordered it and will proudly stay next to PF Vader. So for people complaining that we complain, just think that there is always room for better and since Cinemaquette listened to their fans regarding Vader, we can also talk about this statue. It is a discussion forum after all. We thrive to get the best of any product out there, otherwise we would buy everything blindly, and not use our brains to think and choose. I guess the members here are not mindless robots and interesting discussions also make a forum good or bad.

And since Gentle Giant was able to do a superb Stormtrooper bust

You say the GG bust was superb. I think it looks squished and I don't like it. I like the way SS did theirs better. It all comes down to preference. Like it then buy it or don't. I don't think Sideshow ever said this was going to be a perfect representation of the ANH Stormtrooper. They said they were going to make a Stormtrooper and they did.

I am all for people choosing to like something or not. It just bugs me when people come and complain all the time about accuracy and call it a failure. Not saying you are saying that jkno but there are people out there that do it to everything. Makes it hard to get excited for something when people are always saying "eyes are not right" "dome is not flared enough" "cape doesn't lay right" "mouthpiece should be 1/3 inch lower"...

It's great to be so into collecting and screen used props but that isn't what these are.

In fact they did say that:

"The Stormtrooper Premium Format figure captures every detail of the iconic armored soldiers from the original 'Star Wars' film, A New Hope. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. Crafted in 1:4 scale, this dynamic figure features a real fabric bodysuit and hand-cast trooper armor. The Stormtrooper Premium Format Figure is the perfect addition to any Star Wars display."

You sir, are a hypocrite.

You are downing the fans that are just a little more hardcore into the details behind these designs, we can state the obvious if we wish.

Marmit Sand/Stormtroopers are still a fav of mine, they are damn old too and probally as canon to the films in design as your going to get, not for functionality though...like i said..they are old but, damn fine molds of Stormtroopers.

Look at those bloated calf armor casings on the SS figure, the Marmit is much more true to the look of the films.

Okay then. Complain away. Still ain't gonna fix it.

can someone please just provide a list of items that are supposedly inaccurate without the drama? I looked at the pictures and paused the episode iv scene where it had a full shot of the storm trooper. Couldnt find anything different, looks very accurate to me?

I am just upset for $300 sideshow didnt even include ANY switchouts, at least throw us a bone and include a switch out for the heavy blaster rifle or something. And the helm doesnt come off, and the base has nothing, and there is no exclusive version, and probably thousands will be made making this not very collector-friendly at all.

Yes i know i am whining, but man this PF statue could be so much more....
