I have Babydoll on PO and I really hope that the line is successful enough that Rocket gets produced!

I think all of these will see some kind of release. They may be quite limited further down the line, but GG will release them and they will sell in the limited numbers.

I contacted GG they said 500 pcs each character so if this thing came out close to prototype the value of this thing will double the value :) i think coz if you will search for Matrix Trinity on Motor Cycle that thing is so expensive and hard to find

Joeprox, i highly doubt that any of them except BabyDoll will be 500 pieces. on the website it is still showing as TBD and online retailers are still taking preorders. So whomever you corresponded with at GG is getting their wires crossed.

Damn, whomever orders the whole bunch must really love the flick.
Really surprised they showed the prototypes for em all, or even are attempting to make em all...

Hey didn't I tell ya to preorder it last year Jimmy???

I know bro. Did you ?

I may just focus on Sweet Pea and do all versions of her.

Agreed. That is crazy love ! Which I don't even know if I have since I have yet to see the movie ! :gah:

It really becomes an issue of:

They make Qty 500 Babydoll.
Say for example 300 of those sold only want her, the other 200 want the whole set. So if they make 500 of the other girls are made each, then only 200 of them actually sell. Plus Babydoll is pre-sold out everywhere. I can't imagine too many collectors are willing to try for the set if they can't even get their hands on the main girl.

It's only logical to make less of the other girls.

I can't believe that people, when all is said and done, are spending $1,000 on these 5 statues of an unproven franchise. It really puts it in perspective that sex sales and that people buy sculpts and not characters.

On second thought, you know what? I can believe it. :monkey1

Wow, your perspective is based on one big assumption

:lol

I agree sex sells but I think it is also because they are cool designs. I'm sure people would still buy them had they been male characters/statues.

PS Where are the HT's ones?:impatient:

It may sound like a big generalization but given the state of the hobby I think it's a valid observation. I haven't read anyone mention how much they liked the personalities of these very well fleshed out characters. :lol

Let's keep it real. Hot chick sculpts sale. There has to be no attachment to the characters. $200 gone! People preordered these even knowing GG's record for spotty QC lately. A rare leap of faith in an era of massive cancellations and people passing like NFL quarterbacks on most stuff. It basically proves what I said.

These are not new images that have been brought to life. Tons of the element design of these characters are seen in Manga cartoons, and even Sweet Pea is just the Magdalena (comic book) in black leather. Nothing new, so it feels somewhat familiar to collectors, that's why a lot of people will hedge a bet that they will like these final sculpts. Just like the first time Britney appeared on the scene in her catholic school girl outfit. Familiar! add in the guns and swords and how is it different than any image from well known video games??? I loved the images, and I loved the characters in the film.

:exactly: cool design is cool design. It would be interesting to a similar idea/concept but with male characters.

but..
I enjoyed the film. There were some nice action scenes in the film, it was just an added bonus that they were female. I see this in a 300 kind of light. Males like it for the action and blood, girls possibly for the action but more towards seeing extremely ripped guys in nothing but a speedo. Sucker Punch has the "Girl Power" idea for the females but for males you get awesome action sequences with beautiful girls kickin' ass.

I'm trying to hold out on the GG statues in hopes to se a HT proto soon

I'm just hoping that Rocket gets produced because besides Babydoll, is the only other statue I want from this line. :D

Correctamundo! :lecture

Pretty much what I said on my original post: people follow designs and hot girls over characters. It looks hot? they will take that leap of faith and spend $200 on a preoder from a not so reputable company like GG in terms of QC. Aspen and Clay Moore pretty much base thier business on it.

My point remains though. If these turn out well I see people getting all of them. Just like the ninja turtles. So, $1,000 later (give or take) you have a bunch of nice sculpts (if these turn out well with GG quality control) of a bunch of characters that pretty much were conceived to patronize the inner geek in you as was the point of the film.

Again: sculpts over characters.

Hi, Forbiddenplanet.com (UK Based) has the first three up for pre order, but the delivery dates are really weird! Baby Doll = 15 June 2011, Amber = 30 June 2011, Sweet Pea = 08 July 2011 https://forbiddenplanet.com/63767-sucker-punch-statue-baby-doll/ https://forbiddenplanet.com/65330-sucker-punch-statue-amber/ https://forbiddenplanet.com/66234-sucker-punch-statue-sweet-pea/ Does any one know if these have been delayed? Thanks

anyone ordered form forbiddenplanet before? are they reliable? if you order are you guaranteed to have your piece?

I agree with my bro here. :hi5:

Hence why I like the Sweet Pea character as much as I do. And she will be the one I probably focus my collecting efforts on as I like the character design and feel that much.
