looks to be like another great dc animated flick. glad they have kevin conroy back as the voice for batman. although if the article is correct, it's sad they didn't bring michael ironside as the voice for darkseid. according to imdb they are though: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1673430/

This is all well and good, but...

When the F are they gonna do "Kingdom Come"??? Hurry up, already! :tap

So, seems like a kind of sequel to Public Enemies (based on the Loeb/Turner comics). I would like to see this line tackle more diverse content more often. But Superman and Batman = money, so the decision isn't a surprise. I look forward to anything DC is doing with this series.

Judas Contract should be next, IMO. I recall that they couldn't do it previously because of the kiddie cartoon series, but that's canceled at this point. So. . .DO IT!

Sounds like it's gonna be cool!

:lecture

Kingdom Come would be awesome to see! :rock

I 3RD THIS!!! I would squeel with glee to see Alex Ross style brought to life :panic:

God knows it would be my own private "Kingdom Come" to see such an awsome story givin animation life.

I'd only want Kingdom Come if they could get as close to Ross' art as possible with the animation. The whole Saturday morning cartoon art style DC seems to like would just feel out of place.

Would probably need to be CGI to do something with that level of complexity to design, shadow, etc., and I fear how cheesy that would look on a direct to DVD-type deal.

The Judas Contract would be AWESOME! It would be great to see the original Robin, Kid Flash and Wonder Girl along with Cyborg ,Starfire, Raven & Changeling animated!

Deathstroke, Terra and Jericho are icing on the cake! :rock

Yeah, the DC Animated focus has been almost exclusively on the Justice League and its members (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern). The Titans only had that cartoon, which clearly wasn't targeting adults anyway. Would be nice to see the Wolfman/Perez era getting some love.

On a side note, I really wish Marvel was able to produce animated films of the same quality of what DC is producing.

I agree with the point about Ross style being so complex for American animation. Even Pixar is only able to do toony looking stuff. I think a Ross toon would have to get exported to Japan for any real quality.

Received an Advanced copy of this today! It's immense... IMO its the best Direct to Video DC Animated film to date... Its stuffed full of story and well-paced. It's also more accurate than most of the others with regards to the original storyline, maybe a bit rushed here and there as expected and required. It also boasts the best Character Designs in any of the DC Animation Universes, again imo. Although since they have gone for the Late, great Michael Turner art-style Superman sometimes looks like he is rocking a little too much mascara! But he looks tough as nails, albeit a little bit on the pretty side! haha

The animation quality isn't consistently smooth, its not as tight as it was in Batman: Red Hood! Which I think was the best animation I've seen in these releases thus far!

But the music and voice action was very good, however Summer Glau wasn't great with some of the more emotionally scenes... She didn't really milk the sorrow or fear where needs be! But as this was her first voice acting gig, you can expect some inexperience show through to her work. She's not horrible or anything, she's just not on par.

All of the females character designs where really attractive... Even Granny Goodness?!? haha
All the fights where great, but as per usual in these films and JLU too much collateral damage... I'm sorry, but Superman isnt a hero if he is knock down buildings!

When's this released again?

Watched it last night. Great animation. Enjoyed it very much. But like Grange said, it felt a bit rushed.

On a side note, I really hate the fact that they make Superman so weak all the time. His capabilities are endless, as he demostrated with the army of Doomsdays.
