Big creatures and new Environments! And yes, I think we'll see a 1/6 Rancor, always believed it would be a SDCC 07 announcement.... we'll see!

I don't doubt we'll get a Luke vs Rancor, but there's no way it'll be 1/6 scale. It will most like be 1/9 or even smaller.

I think they will. Why? 12" Jedi Luke (with Rancor Bone) and Brant did say big, plus why follow a great 1/6 Jabba with a 1/9th scale creature when they're on a such a roll? They clearly know how do do a hollow mold 1/6 creature with limited articulation so I really don't see the limitation on making this. Anyway you may be right, I just want a 1/6 Rancor very badly...

I second that. As for the recent news in the SSC podcast about creatures in the Dio line, I'm hoping to see a nice Luke and Wampa setup, the Wampa is a cool looking creature and I think SSC would do a nice job doing a Dio where the Wampa is bearing down on Luke and his lightsaber shoots out of the ice too him, they could make the saber look in motion, it'd be a cool setup.

A Sixth scale Rancor is not all that difficult to do... in fact it's quite simple with just 6 molded pieces.

Hollow cast body with head, arm and leg sockets. Mold head, arms, legs... insert into open sockets and it's done. The head can articulate left and right, arms up and down, legs same way, very similar to Jabbas arms, just mod the socket for rotating articulation, the Rancor won't need much to work fine in this manner.

Maybe the jaw will also be hinged to open wider but other than that it's really a snap to make...

He was talking about these Vs. pieces when he mentioned larger figures. So that means 1/9th I think, although even at that scale the Rancor will be PF hulk size.

I just want a 1/6 Rancor very badly...

I remember in an interview months ago with Tom, he stated his dream piece for the 1/6 scale line would be a Rancor with a Nightsister. I belive this was the same interview where he said Jar Jar wouldn't ever be made. Someone here can probably back me up on that or even track down the Q & A somewhere. I want to say it may have been done by Rebelscum.

Malakli is the biggest reason why I never even contemplated buying the GG Rancor.

So, um, Sideshow? Please, no naked fat dudes in my SW Dioramas. Make a 12" figure for Congerking, by all means, though...
