I voted Boromir; Lando may be a smooth talker but he isn't exactly a deep character. Boromir has a depth which makes his fall immensely painful and his death all the more tragic and redeeming. Boromir's final self-sacrifice is pureness and nobility of the highest kind. Lando might have given up his comfortable lifestyle for his friends, but the price he paid can't compare to what Boromir ended up paying. For giving up his life, and for the loyalty with which he gave it, Boromir gets my vote, unequivocally.

Sorry Lando.

Come on now there were a ton of non-white actors in LOTR.. They were orcs and Haradrim... Oh wait... :monkey1

Well actually ALL of the scale doubles for the hobbits were non-white. :wave :lecture

Boromir is by far my fav. character in the Lord of the Rings films. In fact Boromir against anyone in the Star Wars films might win for me and I am a Star Wars guy.

My first thought was Boromir but now I'm not so sure... a couple people have made some good points for both.. Hummmm, have to think about it for a bit.

Absolutely. Boromir has always struck me as the most tragic of the characters since he was a good man overcome by his innate human frailty -- something that all of us are susceptible to. Plus, Bean was magnificent.:monkey5

lando---colt .45 , owner of the falcon...ladies man...and that soul glo shine

When I first saw FOTR I liked Boromir a lot, He's probably my favorite LOTR charactor, So I'll vote for him.

He succumbed by being human, then redeemed himself at the end by trying to save merry and pippin. One of the most tragic characters tolkien has written and one that is great one screen, maybe even better on screen then on paper.

I had to vote for Boromir.... He's human, flawed and a deep character who could have been even greater if given time beyond his untimely death. And besides, he had the greatest screen death ever IMO.... Gave me chills the first time I saw it and it still affects me to this day. He kept fighting until he was physically unable... no matter how many tree-trunk arrows he had stuck in his chest. :rock

Besides, Sean Bean rocks...

Boromir all the way. I never liked Lando, and when I was a kid some of my freinds and I called him Lame-O. Boromir was an awesome character, IMO, and die one kick ass death.

Boromir's outfit was so much cooler than Lando's. :rock

I like the fact that Lando gave some ethnic diversity to the cast of Star Wars--something that LOTR is admittedly lacking.

Agreed 100%. There were no Canadian actors portraying significant roles in LotR. :monkey5

I voted Boromir... unless of course the competition includes trying out to be the spokesman for a popular malt liquor! :lol

Had to go with Boromir not only based on character and story, but on Bean's performance. His acting accurately portrayed struggle in every sense and in most cases, no words were needed at all. Lando/Williams seemed to just go through the motions.
