Yep, that's right. I also see this as SSC's responsibility to offer the Medicom items at a price adapted to their market. As long as they hold on to those ridiculous prices, they can keep their merchandise.

I did a quick check on Medicom website.
Maul-18900 Yen
Boba Fett-18900 Yen
Jango Fett- 18900 Yen
Sideshow distributed these figures for $150. Now look at these newer SW figures.
Royal Guard- 17640 Yen
Han Solo - 17640 Yen
What? Lower Yen prices?
18900Yen vs 17640 Yen.
Yet we get a US$30 increase on these new figures.
Medicom increased the prices of their new figures?
MYTH BUSTED!
Also like I said, these YEN prices arent the true retail prices by regional distributors. They are sold for MUCH less than their advertised price.
Only SS could make it more esp for SW![]()
Gee, you don't think that the higher cost of energy is costing them more to import it? or maybe because the Medicom stuff is consistently not selling out at Sideshow's website, that's causing them to order less product during subsequent releases, which means they probably don't get that big of a distributor discount themselves.
Besides, if you exhibit a little patience, Medicom Star Wars stuff usually plumets in price over time anyway.
So blame it on cost of living, blame it on cost of fuel.
But Ive seen people solely blaming the Sideshow's Medi price increase on Medicom itself when medicom DID decrease the website prices on the likes of Han and Royal Guard.
Not Selling out dont mean anything when Sideshow continuosly put prices consistantly high even at $150. I usually get my Medicom at a local retailer for US$125 or about SG180- SG$190 and they can go as low as US$95($140ish) on certain figures.
The reason why SSC increased the medicom prices is to accomodate the declining US$ and Sideshow's own need to increase the price of their own figures.
Lets's face it, In Japan and the around the region,a SW Medicom figure could be had for about $120 from a retailer straight up without waiting for a price decrease.
I'm not saying I'm happy with Medi's price cos they could be $100 or less. But I just find it interesting ppl moan on the recent price increase on Medicom when they CLEARLY decreased the price.

FINALLY SOMEONE WITH A BRAIN!!! And not a god damn apologist!!

Not really it's the god damn truth. Too many SS asslickers on this site. (well it is a freaks board) But to many apologists that look the other way and can see no wrong in what SS does. This can't be denied. It's funny, because when someone says something you agree with, they are smart.![]()
I also find it amusing that some medi critics who have no interest in getting medicom complain about the price increase ON SSC's side.

If I wouldn't like the stuff Sideshow is making, I wouldn't be here. It's cool to share the things you like with people that feel the same way. Still, there is no reason why I shouldn't be critical. It's because I care about SSC, I do comment, the good things, and the bad things. If there's something that bugs me about Sideshow, I think THIS is the place to share it. And I also let the folks over at SSC know what I think about their company, be it good or bad.
...which is completely fine. It is just when it never stops, that is when it gets old. :emperor
As you stated so eloquently this is SIDESHOW COLLECTORS DOT COM. What do you expect? If you like Medicom, fine. Too many people come here just to bash Sideshow like it's the cool thing to do and it is getting old.
I have stuff from SS and Medicom, but I don't go to Medi-World and start complaining that my Medi-clone has mismatched leg armor pieces, or that Jango was missing a piece on the jet pack, or that my Boba had crappy weathering on the helmet.

Its a Medi-folk MO to do that. Its pretty played out really. Nobody here including myself gives a damn what the Medi-folk have to say. Krayt and Chavez are perfect examples so you take what they say with a grain of salt. Because no matter how you try to discuss your an apologist. So even if I never said a thing I'd be one despite my recent thoughts on SS figures and many in the past.
I have Medicom Stuff as well to go with my SS stuff. I think they make a decent product for what its worth.
The thing with the prices of Medicom figures that SS is charging. What are the import fees SS has to pay? What is Medicom Charging SS in any kind of a deal. I have no idea but its food for thought.
Having seen the recent Medicom figures at SDCC. I can say that even at the "decreased" prices they're still too high.

And before you run off and call me a medi-kid or whatever. I could careless as i have my own problems with medicom. I buy both and like both but i also see the faults with both unlike a lot here, i don't pick sides.
As do i.
