I can tell you I'm pretty much at my threshold. :lol

I would think so too but I have no idea how any of that works. I'm sure someone here is more in the know than I am. So I'm totally spitballing. :lol

I just received the shipping notice for the Shock Trooper (under $80! see some companies CAN do it). Hope the Clone commander ($129! again, less expensive than SSC, and this is not the first time SSW has done that) is not far behind.

How nice it would be for Sideshow to jump this train, and start offering the Medicom figures at a reasonable price again. We all love Sideshow, and, with cheeper Medicom figures, we will love them even more! :D

You do know that the Shocktrooper was not originally that price, right?

Are you trying to insult my intelligence now? :dunnoConsidering what these figures cost in production, it's al a matter of how much profit the company wants to make on the item. I have noticed very often that a lot of US retailers sell the Medicom figures for less money than Sideshow does, and, apparently they also have to pay import duties and all. So, if these firms can cut in on their profit, why can't SSC? Isn't it the Sideshow people that claim to be 'fans' themselves? Why are they sucking the money right out off our pockets them? I once asked them, why the prices of the Hot Toys / Medicom figures where going up so drastically, and the answer was "we have no control over the Medicom and Hot Toys prices". So, Sideshow has no control over these prices, but other retailers do? Hmm...
What ever. I'm not buying Medicom from SSC anymore, unless they offer them for a reasonable price. $180 is NOT a reasonable price in my opinion. And, certainly not if other retailers sell the same or similar figures for less.

My assumption is at $75 a pop, Star Wars Toy Shop is probably losing money on these figures but are trying to get rid of them like any other product that doesn't sell well. Perhaps this is why the yellow EpII Medi clone seems to be limited to 750 instead of the 1000 that the Shocktrooper originally had.

Besides, if you can't move an item at a profit, what's the point of continuing to carry it?

I agree the Shock trooper IS an exception. $75 for such a figure is on the low side, but we don't know exactly how low, unless some insider tells us how much it actually costs to make one of these. I'm still waiting for someone to step forward.
And I also do belive that these firms are in business to earn money, but when their marketing starts to feel like daylight robbery... .

The Yellow clone trooper commander actually has an ES of 1000. It's a Japanese Blister exclusive with 250 for the Japanese market, and 750 for the US.

What was I supposed to gleam from this statement? The $80 Shocktrooper is a sale at SWS. You do know they were going for $150 or $129 at SWS originally, right? They are clearing them out because they haven't sold.

It seems your intelligence is easily insulted.

Sorry, but from what you have said, it seems like you think that SWS is doing this out of the goodness of their hearts. :lol

If that is what you think I've said, fine. I'm not putting any more energy in this conversation. I think the tenor of the discussion conducted in the later posts is clear.

Anyone stop and think that they might be cleaning house because of an anticipated release of a superior product from Sideshow? :naughty

FINALLY! Someone with brains !!! :lol:lol:rotfl:lol

Guilty. :wave You've called me out. :lol

I considered this when I ordered my two Shocks, but for $75 each? No way will Sideshow be able to top that deal.

Of course, I'll likely get one (at least) of Sideshow's as well, making my "I saved money" schtick a BS rationalization. But, hey! I'm a collector! Rationalizing is what we do best! :lol
