Get both. If you're going to be getting one from this line, you might as well get everything from it. You should cancel something else or sell some stuff.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Dinosauria completism ftw. :chew

I agree that you should get both (I sure will be). It seems there will be a bit of a gap between releases too if you need to save more.

As hard as it would be to pick I would probably go with Carnotaurus. Just because he's more unique.

...Carnotaurus. Just because he's more unique.

Well, yes and no. As a choice of which species to depict it is certainly a rarity. Even when Carnotauri have been depicted in collectible form (models, statues, etc.) they've certainly never looked this fierce and accurate concomitantly.

Now that being said, while there are probably more collectibles of T.rex on the market than for any other dinosaur, this maquette T.rex is truly unique. We've never had a T.rex collectible like this. We just haven't. I've seen some artistic renderings of old Tyrannosaurs, one by Brett Booth comes to mind that's absolutely exceptional, but it's amazingly rare for artists to find a balance between age and ferocity with prehistoric fauna. This piece does it, and staggeringly well. What's important to note is that not all predatory species have their menace dim with age. It's certainly characteristic in mammalians that they may slow and become more scavengers than predators as they advance in years, but with most other successful predatory species particularly those which correlate closely to prehistoric theropods, they are just as if not more prolific with their kills. Among extant avian raptors and crocodilians in particular this is true. I read a study done among raptors wherein the animal that had the largest number of total active hunting pursuits as well as successful kills was a Golden eagle (the topic species) which was more than nine years older than the next eldest mature eagle observed herein; the old gal in question was 43 with all of the eagles in the study having been tagged and monitored throughout their lives in a national park. Then there are crocodilians, and with them it is consistently the oldest (and consequently largest) males that hold the greatest expanses of territory relatively devoid of serious challenge.

I love both pieces, and "unique" applies to both, but in completely different respects.

You know my vote. Carnotaurus is cool and if you can afford it I would get that one as well in the long run. If a choice absolutely must be made, T.rex all the way. :rock
