Just wondering if anyone here knows much about this company that are making a diecast version of the space shuttle endeavor?. Its went up on sideshows site last week for pre-order. Its priced at $525 which is pretty expensive for a company I've never heard of. Im an astronomy buff and thought this would make a nice feature to the collection. I just dont want to spend $525 on this and find out its made mostly of plastic. The description says its made of diecast metal, but it doesnt say which parts. For all I know the only metal in it could be the name plate. Does anyone here collect from this company or know much about them? What is their quality like?
I also found on google they make a model of the Apollo 11 rocket, which according to the description is of "museum quality". Im considering cancelling my 1/4 Iron man maquette for this (to many QC issues).

Thanks that helped me out alot. Nothing was coming up in my searches when I typed Tamashii Nations Apollo 11. Bandai worked though and brought up quit alot. Only problem now is...it looks like I missed the boat. Everywhere I look for the Apollo 11 is says its sold out. Literally every single site. Dam, this sucks...I wish I knew about it sooner.

Yup thats the one, but shipping from Japan is going to be killer. If I cant find any places here in north america then I may have to order from there. I found one on ebay, but that guy wants $700 for it + shipping. From what I read, this apollo 11 model is insanely detailed. The reviews I read glorify it as the most acurate apollo 11 model ever built to date. Makes me want to buy it just to see what all the fuss is about. Plus it will look good next to the shuttle when I get it.

Yes but the offer is free shipping anywhere in the world. If Canada is not excluded for some reason then this is a bargain.

Yep, the Saturn V and Endeavour are on my buy list. Canceled a bunch of PO's for these.

HLJ's pre-order for Endeavour, including shipping, is cheaper than the SSC regular price. Good stuff, but order prior to 30NOV.

Ya I just ordered both, my Saturn V should be here in a week or so. I wish SS carried the Saturn V when it was released. Would have saved me having to order all the way from japan. I wonder why they were able to get the shuttle all of a sudden?

Why on earth is this a hassle? Free shipping so it costs you less than had you ordered it from SS - and the shipping time is the same or similar. :dunno

Damashii Nation is indeed a line of all kinds of stuff by Bandai (all of it geared toward collectors). Bandai, BTW, is the 500lb gorilla of the Japanese toy market for those who don't know. I don't own the Apollo 11, but I have handled it, and holy crap is it impressive...so I can only imagine that the Shuttle will be as well...

As far as HLJ goes they are a class act. I have ordered from them a lot and I have never had a problem. They answer e-mails and the guy who runs the place will do what he can to keep your business once he gets it...No hassles in shipping either...The only thing to watch out for is that the prices are in Yen. That means that while the price of something might be a constant 1000yen from pre-order to ship the conversion rate might change. So the price in dollars might go up or down depending on the exchange rate is...

If I remember correctly amiami only ships EMS which is really expensive. At the moment EMS shipping on the the Apollo V (I know not the shuttle but a good analog) is 8560yen, which given the current exchange rate equals $102.11....

Hey while researching the above post I noticed the HLJ is offering FREE SHIPPING on the Saturn V while their supplies last. A good deal indeed....

It didn't take much research Sherlock, I posted those links in this thread days ago. :slap

I concur, HLJ has always been a class act and they are widely acknowledged as one of the best places to get Japanese market items (as well as other stuff) sent to the States. They have come a long way from their humble beginnings.

Their packaging and service are outstanding and you can usually find deals that are as good or better than many "local" mail order sites even with shiping included. No need to be concerned at all regarding orders from HLJ.

As for the Saturn V, I wonder if HLJ's stock is the "first batch" that includes the post-splashdown CM piece.
