Figure prices are higher in the UK than they are in the US. If they've been going for 135 quid in the UK, and not just a pound-dollar conversion on those being sold in the US, then that's an amazing deal. I got mine back at release for $300 shipped and didn't blink an eye at the price with the figure in hand. Patience will almost always get you a better deal. It is an exceptional figure with the pleasure as much in the handling as in the display, which is more than can be said for the flimsy, brittle-jointed 1/6 examples that are served up by various companies.

Not a huge 3PO fan, but this has to be one of the best 1/6 figures i own.

I passed in the end because I'm not a fan of the character either, but it does look great...sometimes it's the little details and the real wires sell the hell out of it, IMO.

This guy is stunning....I had SS on PO but canceled and picked this one up for 240$ some months ago...it just doesn't make sense to go for a plastic figure with molded wires vs this Diecast beauty with real wiring

There was a point when I was in the market and thought I liked SSC's dull, weathered finish better...I since scrapped the idea but if I had to do it again, I'd probably pick up the Tama based on the SSC pics and their production item track record. That said, I'd then weather the Tama myself.

I've been thinking of grabbing this guy from ebay, though most of them are from japan, one guy has it for £226 shipped. I can't say i've bought from japan before mostly always HK anyone had any issues before i dive in?

More than a few of these had surface blemishes, ranging from slight scuffs to pits or blisters. I picked up two and each had issues, but on different parts. I switched the parts so that I ended up with a perfect figure. Make sure the seller has a friendly return policy if you're picky. A lot of folks picking theirs up more recently don't seem to have mentioned any issues though, so maybe it was a batch problem.

he has a 14 day return policy so i guess im covered there, just wondering if I'd get stung by customs on this dude, most hk sellers mark down. Tends to be luck of the draw i've asked so we'll see what he says about marking down

I think HK sellers are more amenable to marking down than Japanese sellers, but I haven't had to pay any attention to it 'cause Australians don't pay a dime of import duty on personal goods under a thousand bucks' worth. UK customs duties suck.

I bought mine from Hobby Link Japan when they put him on clearance, it got through Irish customs with no issues. Maybe cos the item was marked at full price in yen but the lads in customs couldn't be bothered to work out the conversion rate. I was very happy to get him for the price I did.

Edit: it worked out at about £125 / $180 / €170 delivered.
