Anyone see these yet in person?

Found them today. I was mainly interested in the R2 style droid. It has no middle leg and no ankle articulation. But otherwise it's nice. Similar in size to Sideshow's R2. 3PO is a good sculpt but only has shoulder articulation and the hips have very limited movement:

These look pretty cool. A great way to get a decent looking threepio if you are on a budget. I have the Medicom threepio and even though it is a little undersized like this one, it looks great next to the Hot Toys figures as long as I don't let my collector OCD tendencies get the better of me. I would love to see them come our with an R2D2 as well. I suspect they will since they already have most of the mold taken care of.

I just ordered these guys. Wish the 3PO had been chrome plated like all the previous Hasbro/Kenner 3PO's were but I guess he did look pretty dull and plasticky in TFA, so maybe hasbro did this finish for a reason.

They'll probably do an R2 but R2 was basically a no-show in TFA so Hasbro maybe thought kids wouldn't be as interested with no movie backing the character up. BB-8 seems to have replaced R2 in the "cute robot" stakes.

R2 was way overesposed in the prequels. BB is far cuter. Replace already happened in my heart.

Oh, so we're not a fan of rocket boosters are we?:lol

BB-8 gets blown apart in Ep8 and put back together by Chewie - but he puts him together wrong and he travels the rest of the movie as a dome atop two balls instead of one. That might ruin the cute factor.:dunno

Well, the original idea was for the saga to be seen through Artoo and Threepio's eyes. That's changed with TFA.

BTW unless your username is ironic you must've liked Grievous at least?

SW was very much like that, the entire plot moves through their characters, but they sort of moved away from that for the most part even by Empire with 3PO being blown apart for chunks of it and blind after being put together.

That conceit -- that the movies are told from the robots POV -- is an old conceit that Lucas really only held onto during press for ANH.

I'm happy for the Hasbro collectors, that they have some more stuff to get.
