Yeah because having a Target in Canada will bring up the obesity rate here and make people neglect their fellow man for deals. Stupid Craw! :pfft: hehe

you'd be suprised what these stores will bring out of the woodwork. they put up a walmart here a couple years ago. i've been there twice. i won't go back. it's full of mutants. i seriously didn't know we had people like that in this area. it's freakin' weird. my friend went there and while the cashier was bagging his items, her couple fake teeth fell out of her mouth and into his bag. he had to watch while she rummaged around in the bag to find them. true story.:lecture

Honestly, after watching this video, I wonder how many people couldn't help but notice how overweight people appeared?
I've never seen anything like that before around where I have lived (Montreal, Canada and London, England).
We have massive year end sales here too.

I think you might want to actually look into the population densities of Toronto and Montréal before offering that opinion. Reality is the exact opposite of your explanation. American cities tend to have much lower population densities than Europe, Japan and other societies of comparable political and economic development, yet the per capita murder rate is several times higher in America.

I didn't know you were just picking out certain cites. I thought you were talking about the entire countries. Comparing say, New York City and Toronto, then I would agree with you.

I really don't think you can compare the US to Japan or Europe. Totally different animals. But, that's another thread.

hudsons bay company (which owns zellers) is already owned by an american company..i wont miss zellers. I miss dominion, eatons (my first job!) and woolco though.
The U.S. firm NRDC Equity Partners, LLC, owner of American department store chain Lord & Taylor, announced its purchase of the company on July 16, 2008.

Canadian Tire is about all that is left now.

As for Future Shop..
In March 2001, American-based Best Buy acquired Future Shop for $480 million Canadian. Despite possible conversions to the Best Buy nameplate,

Not sure if they were Canadian chains but, remember Simpsons and Consumers Disributing?.:lol

I remember picking up a ____-load of Go-Bots at Crappy Tire for just under a buck each, Droids and Ewoks figures at my local Dollar Store for $1.

The Canuckleheads are just mad because our Country can beat up their country.:)

Some of that is the camera squishing people down and also the weather was terribly cold and everyone was wearing those down coats.

I remember seeing something like this happen in Japan, but I can't remember what it was about. It was a store opening or selling something. I know they go nuts with new electronic gagets so maybe that was it.

I can't believe how many times on this board I hear people from Canada act like they've never seen a fat person there, yet Canada obesity rate is pretty close to ours. Maybe they're in denial like they are here.

Zellers is a subsidiary of HBC. That's where new immigrants(FOBS and the rest of stereotypical acronyms!)shop. Ghetto people mostly shop at Wal-Mart here. It's funny, really.:lol

No way..old wealthy white people shop at Zellers and they're always complaining at the line up about the lack of service there as well.

Walmart has more immigrant shoppers and workers, and uhh..YTV is for FOB's come to think of it. :lol

No, Anglos shop at The Bay or Sears for their basics. FOBS at Zellers and riffraff at Walmart. Welfare case, either Goodwill or Value Village. Or Walmart!:monkey4

LOL! YTV FTW!:winner

Damn, I used to watch YTV all the time! Is Carlo still hosting? I always see him around but not sure if he's still with the network.

Yes Simpsons, home of Today's Special! Some of the changeroom doors at the Bay (queen/yonge) still have the Simpsons logo.. good times.

The Consumers Distributing christmas book was the bible to me.. one of the last things I got there was Double Dragon for NES
