In an interview with Rolling Stone, it's revealed that producer Michael Bay spoke with Industrial Light & Magic about the special effects surrounding Krang.

They start with Ninja Turtles animation. Pablo Helman, a visual-effects supervisor who worked on the Star Wars prequels, appears onscreen and shows Bay the latest version of Krang, a new-to-the-movies villain who is, essentially, a disembodied brain inside a giant robot. "So we've eliminated the tentacles," Helman explains. "Is it too monster-ish?"

"He could have some tentacles," says Bay. "I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus."

The interview continues with mention of the special effects for Bebop and Rocksteady, with the characters already a part of the recent trailer (watch above).

They show him a clip of two other new characters, a mutant warthog and a mutant rhinoceros named Bebop and Rocksteady. "You gotta adjust that mass," Bay says. "That mass is not too good yet." He watches a few more times. "Is our rhino dude's head big enough, do you think?"

It should be noted it sounds as if the interview took place prior to the release of the trailer, so it's always possible Krang could have been scrapped. Hopefully (doubtfully) that's not the case.

Here is concept art that previously hit the net said to be for TMNT 2 of Krang as well:

I dunno....I kind of love that Krang. :lol

I wonder if Michael Bay is aware of what a Ninja Turtle is. Can't they just pay for his name and keep him the hell away from creative decisions? Or just murder him secretly and use his name for free?

Rocksteady and Bebop look great! I like the look of that first picture of Krang.

Here's Krang, Shredder and the Technodrome.

Found on the 'Drome.

Is it me or do those toys all look utterly terrible??

Like really really cheap £ shop knock offs.
The ones from the previous movie were really quite good & the cartoon ones are great but those just horrid.

Issues aside I really, really enjoyed the first movie (considering it's a Bay movie) & I'm looking forward to this one a lot

Nope, I was gonna say the same thing too.. but just too lazy to type it. :lol

I don't want ANY collectibles from this new bastardization of TMNT.

Just nice 1/6 1990 movie figures please. :lecture

Lol glad I'm not the only one.

I certainly won't be getting any of these but I am sorely tempted still by the Threezero 1/6 figures from the 1st movie
I actually grew to like the designs as the movie got closer to release & then they don't look bad in motion on the screen either

As I said before I was really quite surprised with how much I enjoyed the 1st movie, it was a great popcorn flick & really good fun.

I hate Bay with an absolute passion after his Transformers stuff but for this I think he did pretty well & I do have high hopes for the 2nd movie

As I think Gaspar said previously, they did at least get the personalities of the four turtles right for the first movie.

However IMO the franchise (detest that word) needs an enema.

Yeah I thought the personalities were spot on & they did work so well together that they did make me think he'd actually bothered to take the time & investigate the Source material properly this time.

I hate that too everything these days is Franchise or cinematic universe :cuckoo:

I would like to see someone else have a crack at it see what they could do but I don't feel Bay did a horrendous job here...although this could all go Transformers 2 this time time round so I will reserve judgement until I have seen it

I still re-watch the last CGI animated movie as I found that to be really good & I've been enjoying the Nickelodeon cartoon as well, that has something for everyone & really re-ignited my love for them.
