Negative. That would be this:

I was just watching that scene again 2 days ago... I'd take one of these if it was 1/4 scale.

So, I moved a few months back and packed up my statues. Slowly getting around to unpacking them and discovered this nightmare: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1450642934.076615.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1450642947.039905.jpg

It's like the styrofoam bonded to the leather. I can't scrape it off, and in some places the pleather is coming off, leaving dull grey specks. Thoughts or suggestions?

Ouch!

I've read, in the past, that the material isn't the best quality.
I bought the T2 recently which had been boxed from new, a few years I suspect. Luckily had no issues.

I want(ed) this piece.

The piece is still awesome. My girlfriend used her nails to get most of it off without too much wear, but yea, that was a shock. Maybe too much humidity where I had been storing it?

I don't see where the pleather is deteriorating, just where the styrofoam and the paper wrapping is stuck to the jacket. Will wiping the jacket with a wet cloth remove the paper?

Edit: Nevermind. Sounds like you got most of it off.

Yea, we got most of it. But there are definitely some damaged spots (not in the photo, and frankly not that big of a deal). Makes you wonder how all these statues will hold up a decade or two from now. I mean, if the paint starts flaking on these pieces you're basically screwed. In the grand scheme the hobby/media is still too new to tell how the materials hold up long-term.

Well I'll have to take a mental note of that and remember to wrap the jacket parts in paper before ever boxing it up.

a. yes looks like just the styro on it. (I mean if this is more/actual damage...cant argue that either). one of my Metal Gear Rays came in with his feet covered in it. Warm damp cloth, some elbowgease and it came right off, looks fine now.
b. this is one of the reasons I like fully sculpted (damage reasons).
c. also, this is a reason I have been going back through my pieces and rewrapping them up in tissue/packing/wrapping paper.

This one had some weird coating on the jacket to begin with, I remember that the guns would stick to the jacket once displayed mine included.

Does anyone have any suggestions for touching up the pleather? I've got some tiny light wear spots on one of the sleeves I want to fix

Still Looking for a broken one, damaged, cheap one.
Just need the clothes really.
If anybody sees one please let me know :)

Avoid the sharpie. They leave a purple-ish reflection under certain lighting conditions. I recommend using some gloss black acrylic paint. It's cheap, will stay a little flexible, and will blend in pretty well. Use a tiny brush or a toothpick to apply. Cover the smallest area possible to make the repair. The larger area you paint, the more noticeable it will be.

There are products that are used to fill leather damage, but I have no experience with them. I have a feeling they'll be too thick, and may done more harm than good (odd texture) in this case.
