Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

If this movie negates T1 and T2 everyone is gonna hate TG. Not sure what the people behind this one are thinking if that is the case....I've said this before, but we will not get a good terminator movie with Ahnuld involved at his present age

This movie is a reverse DOFP. Who thought it would be a good idea to recton out the GOOD Terminator movies?

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I wonder if the T-1000 will show up as a naked human again considering there's absolutely no reason for him to do that.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

That's probably one of many things wrong with T3. In T1, Arnold was just one model of the T800; we had glimpses of at least one other in the future dream sequence too. T2, I could understand Arnold return as the same model T800. But there I feel it should have ended, and have other actors play other T800 models in future movies. But how many times did Skynet send back Arnold T800's? It just goes on and on.

I actually enjoyed Terminator Salvation. Better than T3 by far. T3 had a few good ideas but the execution of the movie was rubbish with the general cheesiness of it. Arnold with star glasses and a very mis-cast John Connor. Just felt like a TV movie.

In TS I liked how Reese was portrayed, he at least looked like a younger Michael Biehn; Bale was pretty good as Connor and at least looked like a soldier. The T600's were good and a believable progression of the terminator unit design toward the T800's. The T800 endo at the ending fight I feel was really well done. But the whole Marcus Wright and Helena Bonham-Carter's character thing was weird and out of place and let it down for me.

But this new movie looks to be complete utter pants. The effects look S@&te, the new endo redesign looks unnecessary, and the cast look as out of place as the guy playing John Connor in T3. And Arnold....again. The whole thing just seems to be crapping on T1 and T2 from a great height and I'm not too pleased about that. I am admittedly more of an Alien movie fan, but it's saddening to see this franchise potentially go the same way as Alien Resurrection and AVP, both of which were terrible too. Who on earth thought this movie would be a good idea I don't know.

I will say aspects of Salvation was good...I also prefer it to T3..........T3 was garbage pure and simple. No redeeming aspects aside from the ending

My top 5

1. T2

2. T1

3. T3

4. T5/Genesis

5. Salvation

That's right, Genesis is already better than Salvation. Arnold is in it, so that instantly makes it more legit, and much better than the charisma vacuum Sam Worthington and Bale sounding like he's gargling marvels... when he's not sounding like Sylvester the cat with that lisp of his.

Totally agree haha

Salvation is a horrible movie, T3 was just a disappointing Terminator movie but a pretty good action flick.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I think I've seen T3 three times and Salvation twice.

Uh, yeah, don't really care about them. T3 makes Arnold look lame and Salvation makes Skynet look dumb. I don't know which is worse, how T3 tries to strike a balance between humor and somber and fails or Salvation trying to be disgustingly earnest, but still goofy overall? Don't get me wrong, both movies have a few moments (I actually think the climax to T3 down in the bunker is okay and I REALLY dig the Guns N' Roses nod in Salvation) but nothing that saves them from being crap. If I look at T3 as a quirky action movie that apes it's predecessor in silly ways, I guess I can sort of enjoy it. CG Damaged Arnold looked great atleast.

T1 and T2 are it for me though. Those are the only ones that count. I think that it probably has a lot to do with the fact that the same creative team were working together . . . unlike from 2003-2014 where there's a hodgepodge of "talent".

Some interesting perspective on the timeline alteration. But I still want to punch Jai Courtney.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I'm hoping that Arnyoung T800 is at least wearing the punk outfit when he gets killed by Arnold, the T-Oldhundred. Wouldn't mind a new Technoir from HT.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

:goodpost: Agreed.

The future war was the only logical sequel to T2 & it's a damn shame that Salvation wasn't a financial success.

If they hadn't insisted on trying to draw it all out into a trilogy maybe they could have shown the stuff we all wanted to see in the first place instead of saving it for a final film that they were never guaranteed to be able to make.
