Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Not a fan of hyperactivity myself. Another reason some youtube Hot Toys or NECA reviews just don't appeal to me. But then again they can be too far the other way aswell which is equally tiresome. If I were making videos I'd likely be the latter so I don't.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I like that guy's reviews. His schtick works for him, IMO. He also had some good points about the movie and premise, too.

And something else to consider. Forum-internet-critic-never-pleased-with-anything-but-who-creates-nothing-themselves also gets pretty tiresome. :wink1:

Kyle and the Terminator seem to arrive within a few minutes of each other. So when Sarah says, "We took care of him," I presume that means that she and Pops took out the first T-800 together and then raced over to save Reese. So I wonder if Pops will first attack with his shotgun and then Sarah will finish him off (maybe that's the head from the poster she'll end up holding.) What will she says since it's PG-13? "You're terminated Mr. Falcon...."

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

They could have done so much with this movie. Imagine if when Reese went back not only were Pops and Sarah a team but because the timeline had changed she also had a man and a two year old boy named John already. NOT Reese's son. Her lover could be played by the same guy who plays future John but with different hair and no scars and everything to show that it's John's dad and not John. It would also reveal to Reese and the audience that the John who sent him back KNEW that Reese wasn't the father.

OR maybe Sarah is with a guy that looks like future John and she DOESN'T have a kid. But Reese loves her and is faced with the dilemma of keeping his distance so that the John he knew can be conceived or making a move and erasing him with his own kid. It'd be so awesome to see Reese as the true underdog again, not only in his battle against the T-1000 but with regard to love as well.

I think it would also have been awesome if they had the T-1000 KILL Pops early on. What an "oh ****" that moment would be. If they want to repeat the T-1000 fine, but make it human vs. T-1000. We've never seen that before.

Part of the appeal of this whole concept to me was seeing the Tech Noir punk-outfitted T-800 again. Now we know before the film is even in cinemas that they squandered that opportunity. So its just gonna be naked T-800 again. We saw that in T4.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

I think the John's father paradox is here to stay... and it will never be explained unfortunately. It's going to be a story mechanic, and nothing further.

I don't know how the hell Pops is going to go three movies, with huge amounts of flesh missing. Unless they build his costume in every film to hide his skeleton.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

There's no way this is going three movies. This is going to be like Mr. Brooks. Planned trilogy, one and done. At least, that's what I'm hoping for.

That'd be so awesome if in the movie when Pops says "I'll be back" he jumps out of the helicopter and then they do this super long slow-motion shot of his descent toward the other helicopter as Sarah watches while the soundtrack is blaring "There Goes My Hero" by Foo Fighters. Then right as we think he's going to connect and kickass the chopper blades unceremoniously disintegrate him and the song abruptly stops. Basically the Terminator version of the Rock and Sam Jackson leaping to their deaths in The Other Guys.

Nah, there was no appeal to this concept.

He's going to collide with the helicopter and they'll become one. A Termformer, if you will. Think of the toys!

I was going to call it a Transinator, but they still haven't been fully accepted and embraced by society. Yet.

Dude, they squandered all opportunity when they turned this film into a Grease mega mix medley monstrosity; throw it all in - it'll make sense!!

:lol
