All this LAH love - I can feel my resistance waning. I'm caving in to peer pressure! Now I'll have to see it! Thanks for nothing, D.A.R.E!

If you like Arnold movies, you'll like it. Screw all the "satire/social commentary/deeper meaning" nonsense, Arnold movies should be fun and that's exactly what it is.

Just finished Last Action Hero, haven't seen it since theaters....really was an enjoyable flick.

I love LAH, I don't get the hate some people have for it. Arnold was genuinely trying the the whole film was just fun all around.

The T-1000 cameo was just too awesome. :lol

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

No big deal, I hadn't seen Total Recall until a few years ago. :lol

I still haven't seen any of the Conan films.

I just watched Total Recall for the first time since I was a kid a few weeks ago and loved it. Despite whatever flaws, there was some cool stuff in the movie and I loved the whole was/wasn't it real aspect. Was yelling "YOU BLEW MY COVER!!" at my girl for like a week after haha.

Gotta love the spinning scene with Conan and the monster LOL!

My girl was actually the one that made me watch it :lol

The first Conan is very good. The sequel....not so much.

Whenever they've been on TV, I just couldn't get into them. I should give them another shot.

You've never seen any of the Conan movies? Crom. :slap

So many of the effects are laughably dated, but I love Total Recall. Between this, RoboCop, Basic Instinct and Starship Troopers, that's a pretty awesome body of work for Verhoeven. Too bad Showgirls is on his resume.

His face when the mask opens up always cracks me up, it's like he took a left hook to the jaw.

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Yeah, according to Wiki, Total Recall's budget was $50 million to $60 million whereas T2's was around $100 million. I guess you can see the difference in the effects.

As far as T2's effects go, the only egregious one to me is the fake-looking Arnie puppet that gets shot up by SWAT. That and the Arnie and John stunt doubles aren't always seamless (this was also a problem in some of the Die Hard fight scenes).

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

The Harley jump stuntman in the beginning of the film where he's chasing after John and T-1000 looks real bad, and the stuntman that pulls the John stuntman from the motorbike looks bad too. Might be the only things to take me out of the film.

The Arnie puppet look pretty good, and was probably unnoticeable to anyone the first time they've seen it

Re: Terminator: Genisys (July 1st, 2015)

Watched T2 the other night due to this thread and the Arnold kick I've been on since I rewatched Total Recall, man that movie still holds up well. Love when Sarah Connor breaks out of the hospital, some good close combat there. Reminded me of the First Blood escape sequence. She also had a Detonics 1911 which was a hots*** pistol in that time.
