I just managed to do it. You have to twist it a little then be able to get enough leverage to pull one of the lids off. Using the chip that came with the endoskull temporarily until russ sends me one of his chips.

Glad to hear about that. So how do you attach the chip to the support inside the flask?

BTW any pics? :)

I also used blue tac. Its a soft putty type of adhesive. Except its dry. Us brits use it mainly for putting up posters.

SPLENDID!! Looks awesome, can't wait to get mine but asked Russ to wait until having the chips ready to ship them all together

Is the blue name plaque attached somehow to the flask support?

Always findit strange how us brits have to explain what blu tac is. Just seems so normal to know about it. :lol

The flask looks awesome. :rock
Congrats. :rock2

Thanks for the comment. I find it hard to believe they haven't heard of Blu Tac in the US.

This is how I'll display it from now on

Thanks Ray means alot.

The name plaque is flat but it rests nicely againts the flask holder. This is a seriously awesome replica. It just looks so classy

Congrats!! Looks really cool!:rock Can't wait to receive mine! I asked Russ to wait until the chips are ready as well to send them all together.

BTW what are the silver plaque and the other thing between the 2 plaques, is it like a screwdriver to tighten the parts on the flask? Was the flask easy to assemble and once assembled is it solid? Where did you find a display case for it? I might use my cabinets for displaying the flask but still your case is cool.

Just replied over on the statue forum so here is the cut and paste response:

The silver plaque is actually his business card. The tool in the middle is the hex key needed to bring the flask to the upright position (from 2nd to the 3rd picture). If you look closely at the first picture, you can see the hex nut on the right side. It came pretty much fully assembled, all I had to do was loosen up the two hex nuts and bring the flask to the upright position. Then carefully tighten the hex nuts making sure not to let go of the flask until everything is tighten (otherwise it may swivel back down and break the flask).

As for the display, it is an acrylic box for displaying basketballs. I got it from The Container Store here in the U.S. Anyway you display it, you are going to love this piece. Can't wait till I get the chips.

The CPU CHIPS are machined from solid brass. You can have it unfinished or he masks them and paints them. Yes, these are SCREEN ACCURATE 1:1 SCALE CPUs. Unlike the inaccurate size chip we got in our SIDESHOW 1:1 Endo busts:D You will not find a better CPU out there. I have this chip flask coming from him as we speak. All machined aluminum and GLASS!!

ARE WE DROOLING YET:lol

It does look very nice painted.

I'm no chip expert, but how is the chip with the 1:1 sideshow bust inaccurate when it was made by Stan Winston Studios? If anybody should know what it looks like...

I understand why you would think that, but that's not always the case.

I was actually fairly interested in this piece until I ran into the above posts. I'm not saying it isn't, but how do we know that this custom piece is accurate and the one in the Endo bust is not? I read all the way to the end of the thread and other than Sachiel's declaration, nada. No substantial proof to the claim whatsoever. :huh

Think what you like about the chip size. Russ has done his homework bro. It's 1:1 scale accurate from movie screenshots that Russ went off of. It's sadly SIDESHOW that skipped school that day:lol
