yeah there's a few t mentionsby connor at the vla realizing the t-800 is 10 years early, connor with the t-600 motor cortex knife thingamajig on the radio.... connor in the factory says "t-800's", connor describing the nuclear fuel cells, "life source for the t-800" crappy line.

Shows how much I retained in this film. :lol

I think Terminator Salvation should have had active T-700's and many more T-800's in the movie.

i think we'll more see em in the sequel...i read comments by mcg stating we'll see the emergence of time displacement, the t-1000 origin, and a possible robert patrick appearance as a resistance officer.

I think the T-700 in the picture above is correct to what we see in the factory

Dang guys whats so hard.. The T-700s have a rough finish as they are just battle units stamped out ... The T-800s have a smooth stainless steel type finish cuz they are covered in flesh.. the smooth finish doesnt hang on the inside of the flesh..hey lookit how much surgical items are stainless

on another note* please be aware that this is not cannon but its just neat to mention...

According to the sarah connor chronicles.. they mention the terminators being made out of normal metal but heat would melt them..then they switched to a different metal..called Coltan .

surfer hit the nail on the head earlier, the 700's never made the final cut in concept. they used the 700 bodies made for the movie and just renamed them 800's. if they really wanted 700's in the movie, they would have shoehorned the dialogue into the cut just like they did with kyle spouting out every t-designation like an encyclopedia.

TSCC had nothing to do with the franchise in it's current state. think if it like the highlander tv show, a good show, but very overcomplicated and divergent from the original.

We will have to wait for the DVD to find out for sure.. I wish the 700 was more like the press photo that came out. I would also still like to know what the extra parts on the 800 at the end of the movie are for.

I am also not to crazy about Marcus's endo looking more advanced and streamlined than the 800. He's the t-rip, a prototype.

Isnt the t-700 a battle unit .. and the t-800 an infiltration unit.. this would explain why one has flesh disquise and the other doesnt..

the T-800 looks like the ones in T-2 and T-1.. the T-700 is what is in TS and they look rough..the T-800 makes the appearance at the end of the film..it ofcoarse is the infiltrator unit..that gets its flesh burned off..

My interpretation:

T-600 = Big terminator with gatling gun (Eg: When Marcus first meets Kyle)

T-700 = In the factory being assembled (A smaller, more agile version of T-600/more human-like)

T-800 = T-700 (essentially) with a synthetic skin (Eg: Arnold)

T-RIP = T-700 with a human heart, brain & skin (Eg: Marcus)

Remember, there doesn't need to be a really complex explanation for each terminator!

I think the T-800 is a combination of a T-700 and a T-RIP, same chassis as the 700, maybe slightly smaller, but with flesh on the outside like the T-RIP, and they can be mass produced like the 700...oh, and they don't need to capture humans to make them like they did with Marcus...

Given the t-800 is the infiltrator - I suppose its possible that its not a physical upgrade on the t-700 but rather a better neural net so as to be able to better impersonate a human ?

Clutching at straws here to make the damn plot work and I haven't even seen the movie yet.

Looking at the photos of the t-700 and the hot toys t-700, i can't help but feel they don't match up.

In the pics, the chasis, thighs and shins of the t-700s are different from the t-800s. However in the hot toys version, the t-700s and the t-800s look essentially the same except for the finishing....

Sorry if this has been said like Silent Surfer have not read all posts!

So this is my theroey here, Hot Toys factory T-700 dio is a T-700. 1/6th T-700 from Hot Toys is a T-800. Oh yes! Will have a T-800 on my shelf!!! Maybe rough texture can be passed of as "Molten Steel to Liquid Nitrogen" Damage!

Bottom line is McG and Laing tried to do their own cool thing and it doesn't make any sense. They tried to put too much stuff in, forgot what they had started by the time they were done, and here we are making a whole new thread to talk about the same ^^^^ all over again.

Lets just all agree that it doesn't make any sense the way it has been presented to us, and we can make up any theory that works for us as individuals, but there is no real straight answer in McGLand. To me he is the Terminator equivelant of Paul W.orthless S.hit Anderson (AVP).

I'd have to agree, Mc'kie did not do a good job but even worse the story was weak. It was a decent movie but its amazing to think how much better it could have been with a better director and story.

I really do hope Hot Toys makes a new 800, cause this one is different. It seems to have a deltoid plate and extra cables going to it. Plus there looks to be some enhacement to the upper arm that makes it look a bit more like muscle even in endo mode. It's almost I, Robotish.
