Just got it, and all I can think to say is _____K!

-Busted shield: Check!
-Cocaine covering the bottom of the base: Check, but no big whoop
-Lights turned on fine, but don't turn off via the switch. So, do I need to just take out the batteries to turn it off every time? No way!
-Decent sized bump just above the tip of the nose on Missy Death's human portrait. Dead center. This is the portrait I would display, so :thumbsdow

The piece is righteous as a whole, but there's no way I'm keeping it with these flaws. Gonna try to get a replacement, and see how lucky I am the second time around. If I get another broken one, I'm just going to get a refund. This _____ is supposed to be fun, right? :

This is up there with SS's worst designed assemblies pre-shipping. Yeah, the shield should have been inserted via a post by the customer. Duh! They've normally done this in the past with other such items. I have no idea why they didn't with this one. Especially since there are other elements which require assembly like the surfboard and the handle on Mjolnir.

I'll try to take some pics in a little while, but I'm not so inspired as I would be with a good one.

Thanks, brother. I don't get it either. I requested they inspect it, and got a response stating they would, but I doubt they did.

Yeah, it's a tough decision to make. I really do want it, but am I patient enough to wait and deal with all the disappointment? I am not so sure.

Anyone know how Sideshow manages their inventory? I'm guessing that they must set aside qtys for those on Flex pay and then pull from there once Flex payments are complete? Otherwise, how are people still getting statues when Sideshow has told most people that new deliveries will not be available until April?

I'm guessing the flex orders were set aside until they were paid off.

That seems to be what they are doing. So that means that if you are on Flex that you are going to be subject to the same potential shipping damage on Cap's shield that everyone else has been through. They are pretty much crossing their fingers and hoping the piece doesn't break.

Skiman - my advice to you (and anyone else on Flex) is to drag out your payments until April so you will have a chance at the next shipment too. I'm guessing this next shipment will have better shipping carton or a detachable shield?

Hmmm. I hadn't thought of that. It makes perfect sense. Perhaps I'll try to get one of the April editions and see what happens. Good thinking, brother!

what makes me sad is that it's such a beautiful piece but because of all the S__t now some people are way passed that, cause sideshows shipping was pure crap. and ruined everything...don't get me wrong I agree with all of you..it just sucks, cause the sculpt is fantastic
