So for those who saw it. Does the original comic book style and look of the suit work in the actual movie. I didn't like the ASM suit at first but when I saw it in the actual film , I enjoyed it more.

I may be a bit biased, but I loved this movie. Don't see any reason to hate it.

I personally thought the suit look incredible on screen. But again, biased Spider-Man fan here:wink1:

I just got back from regular 2D and loved it. I say 2D, then go back for 3D if you enjoyed it.

That's what I was thinking. Did not like ASM in 3D, don't know why I think I always need to see Spidey flicks in 3D, it's not even on my radar for any other CBMs.

Just got back from seeing the movie and I really enjoyed it. Hard to say which is better so far. Cap 2, ASM2 and X-Men soon to come.

Strange how that works. I couldn't be biased in favour of a new Terminator movie just on account of being a hardcore fan of T1 and T2. In fact my fandom makes me more critical than most people would be.

pretty much true...it wasn't a good movie, all over place, the villains sucked....the only thing it had going for it was Spidey's suit...

I think the reviewers are giving honest critical opinions, some reviewers flame cause its their 'thing', but you seem to agree with the bad they cite, what about the good? Did you like the Peter /Gwen stuff, they seemed to really like it.

I don't really get all of the hate on the movie. It's a bit shocking. It's not a terrible movie at that. I enjoyed it for what it was. Fun flick.

The wife and I just g back from seeing it. We both liked it. It was better than SM3 and ASM. I am someone who hated Garfield in the 1st film. I think He found his stride as Pete in this one. It's far from a perfect movie, but it's enjoyable.

I thought this was decent. It was much better then SM3 and ASM. I was entertained for the most part. The Peter and Gwen scenes were some of the best. I wasn't a fan of Max Dillon in it. Too one dimentional for me. His character seemed rather empty to me. Jamie Foxx should have done better with it. Dane Dehaan was decent as Harry Osborn/Green Goblin. He was sly and sinister. Worked for me. I would have preferred some more action in the film. Oh well. As I said, better then SM3 and ASM for me.

Just back and here is my review of the Amazing Spider-Man 2:

Overall, I really enjoyed it. REALLY enjoyed. In my opinion, best Spider-Man movie yet. I said it for ASM, and I'll say it again: Andrew Garfield is Spider-Man. I don't know how else to say it. I really enjoyed Tobey's run, but Garfield just takes it to an all-new level. He's got the attitude. He's got the look. He's got it all. I'm in awe of how perfect he is for this role. And not to be outdone is Emma Stone. I'll admit when she was first cast. I didn't buy it, but she won me over then and she won me over again in ASM2.

The heart of this movie is the chemistry between Garfield and Stone. Without it, I could see this franchise failing. Heck, I wouldn't be so invested if it weren't how well they 'click' in front of the camera. It's genuine. Even some Oscar-worthy romances don't have this kind of chemistry, let alone a comic book movie. It was already superb in ASM, and it's that much better in ASM2. So, needless to say.....

When Gwen dies, I was shocked. I even expected it, and was still shocked. I dare say that my eyes burned a little, along with that lump you get in your throat when something horrible plays out before your eyes. The saddest scene in all of the Spider-Man movies and the aftermath that plays out, like the scenes where Peter stares at her grave, as the seasons go by, makes it that much more powerful. Webb better have some PERFECT for Mary Jane, Woodley or not. Because she's going to have a hard time winning audiences over, in my opinion.

When people ask why I think these new installments are so much better, it's because of those two.

The Villains: Fox as Electro. Loved it. Loved the design. Loved the voice. Loved his acting. Fox as Dillon....didn't care for him as much. Still good, but in some instances a little over the top with the dialogue and actions, which leads me to Giamatti as Aleksei. I know the Aleksei/Rhino character well, and to me, even this was a little much. :lol I liked him. I got a good laugh. I understand where they were going, but still. I felt it hurt the realness of the character. Then again, he's a guy in giant mech suit, so some would say any realness was lost long ago. And on that note, the mech was awesome. Don't know why people are bothered buy it so much. It had about 5 minutes of screen time (if that) and looked awesome. It served its purpose and did it well.

And then there was Harry. Dane Dehaan did a great job. I loved seeing his emotional transformation play out on screen. He's much more sinister than Franco's portrayal. You could just see it in the guy's eyes. Crazy good. Can't complain at all about the performance, but one complaint about his character was....
He had no business being involved in Gwen's death or in the movie as villain. He's not the Green Goblin. That's Norman's job. They nailed the death scene, but it wasn't with the right character. I can give that a pass, but to get so much right and then miss that 'boat' is a bit of a head scratcher. Wrong environment too for that showdown, but we won't go there.

And while I have these spoiler tags open, Webb better have a genius plan for Norman's rebirth. I believe the reanimation or clone theory will ultimately come true, especially that subtle 'green laser' teaser that Webb even openly acknowledges plays a big role.

The Untold Story told some more: I liked it. I want to see more. I didn't care for the [Spolier]train station 'laboratory,'[/Spoiler] but thankfully that only lasted a few minutes. I like where the story is going though. Keeps you on your toes! I guess it's the mystery of it. There wasn't too terribly much unveiled, but it peaked my curiosity again all of these years later. I hope it comes full circle in ASM3.

'Tip of the hat' goes to the soundtrack! They got it right this time. Not as memorable as Raimi's SM1 and SM2, but MUCH improved over ASM. They picked some great song choices and played them at well-timed scenes. Spot on. (Loved, loved, loved the Neighborhood nod during the end credits.) As for the score, Electro's theme was perfect. Excellent job there.

'Wag of the finger' goes to the mid-credits 'teaser'.....WTF was that? I would have almost rather seen nothing then that. No offense, but I don't want
X-Men
in my Spider-Man movie. Not now and not anytime soon. Then had something awesome going in ASM, and this time was a huge letdown. Give me something 'chew' on for the next two years until ASM3. I can't do anything with this. :lol And honestly, I don't care if this was some 'team-up' foreshadowing or whatever the reason may be. No place for it, IMO.

I'm done with the number ratings system for movies, but I'll put it like this: Best Spider-Man movie to date, despite its flaws. Greatest comic book movie ever? I don't feel so, but Webb did a lot right and certainly raised the bar for the next Spidey installment.

I still haven't caught the 3D 'fever.' :lol Doesn't do much for me. I may give it a shot the second go around though.
