Nothing beats TDK's ending for me, but if we're talking about the most heroic ending, then I gotta go with this. The ending gave me chills. I'm still baffled that this movie is considered a disappointment, I thought it was mostly solid with some minor hiccups like most other superhero flicks.

It was the entire lame erectile dysfunction plot of SM2 played out far better and in a matter of only 5 minutes.

It had nothing to do with erectile dysfunction or his Spider-peener. Spider-Man 2's focus and story line is far superior and tighter than TASM 2's "throw everything at the wall and hope it sticks" approach. You seem to be a fan of "comic Spider-Man". If so, then you'd know that Spider-Man 2 is the perfect adaptation of "Spider-Man: No more", and the storylines from the 60s and 70s. In those comics,

- Peter starts to lose his powers
- gives up Spider-Man for a normal life
- trashes his costume
- JJJ finds it, is ecstatic
- JJJ feels bad later on
- Spider-Man comes back
- Spider-Man fights Doc Ock (who has a warehouse lair that . . . Spider-Man lifts

If anything, I'm sure ASM 3 will deal with Richard and Ben Parker's erectile dysfunction and how it passed onto Petah. The resolution will be that Oscorp had been working on a cure for the perfect boner (something the limp Norman Osborn is also seeking). This formula will inevitably lead to more untold secrets and Venom/Carnage.

I thought Batman taking the blame and being hunted by cops was pretty damn inspirational, it might be a depressing ending but it was inspirational nonetheless.

It's because in the comic, he has a legit reason to be haunted.

In Raimi's his web shooters are organic and he can't shoot them anymore and that's part of what leads to his indecision which is why I make E.D. jokes.(he's in the middle of a brew-ha and he literally can't shoot his load) It's because he's such a bumbling autistic retard that even with his powers, if he doesn't have the suit on he suddenly can't walk down the street without falling or tripping over himself.(and it's not part of his indecision going on in 2 because it still happens in 3) As if putting the suit on suddenly changes him magically from Steve Urkel into Stephan Ur-Kel.

Suit on : Can defy laws of physics and do mid air twist flips soaring between cars at 80mph.

Suit off : Can't navigate a sidewalk with a crack in it or walk between a crowd to class or string together a sentence. He wasn't a nerd or dork or even intelligent or capable. He was straight up special needs Peter Parker.

And that's why he quits. He can't handle life as Parker because he's a retarded dip **** that can't walk a straight line but for no actual reason.
