...I don't even no why we're having this debate.

Me neither, several points have already been made ad nauseum that Disney-Marvel has/have plenty of violent scenes that serves the story and were not watered down.

At this point no one is going to change your mind and vice versa.

Sorry, can’t see Marvel doing anything like this with the character

And if they did, they’ll probably reveal it was a sentient combo dummy or something

:dunno Have you forgotten about Tony Stark blowing holes in people's heads and chests with his repulsors in Iron Man 3? Or the people on Air Force One who were shot and stabbed? Or "Mandarin" sucking **** for drugs?

How about Groot impaling his arms through 4 men and slamming their broken bodies into the steel corridor repeatedly? He also shoves his finger into Drax's chest so he can open up an airway. The way people's skin and bodies start to come apart while handling the gem etc.

Seems Fox is the one with a no bloody claws policy seeing as it took a Director's Cut just for us to get a hint of blood.

I just hope that for the spidey crossover and reboot, we finally actually see a spider man movie instead of dopey teen love story. It was ad in the first series. It got wayyyyy worse in the newer two movies. I want a spidey movie/character that actually follows more of the hero line rather than the love story. Marvel will make that happen thank god.

If Marvel is getting it back I don't mind losing Garf for the trade off of him being in the same movie as Iron Man etc. But if the main movies are still coming from Sony, that's quite ********. The problem in all of this is what it's always been. Sony.

If Marvel not only wanted Spidey to appear in Civil War but also have full creative control going forward I can at least understand why that wouldn't be such a no-brainer from Sony USA's point of view.

I hope I don't have to get a Hot Toys Spider-Man...I was looking forward to a Sideshow one. But if all this comes to a bad conclusion, I can see Sony letting Marvel use Spider-Man. And that would mean most likely reboot. It sucks because even though none of the Spider-Man movies are perfect. They did get the casting right with this reboot. And for some odd reason want to rush to a Sinister Six movie.

He isn't / wasn't fired. Forget the articles, read the hacks themselves.

He is still officially Spiderman guys. Sony has another big meeting coming up where they decide what to do. If they split the franchise 60/40 with Marvel getting the controlling 60 (which is the current negotiation) then it means that Garf is gone so Marvel Studios can do their own thing. They will write him into Civil War as a new character. But either way it goes, Sony is still in charge of making the stand alone Spiderman movies. Which means another reboot from Sony or Garf continuing on with Sony. Either way, this won't be Marvel Studio's Spiderman except in crossovers. Basically, as I've said all along, Marvel Studios simply has no room or game plan for stand alone Spideys of their own anytime between now and 2019.

If this all falls through, it stays with Sony, Garf keeps his job in Sinister Six etc.

So basically choose between keep going and keep them separate or reboot from Sony yet again with Spidey showing up in Avengers and Civil War. I don't have any faith in a 3rd reboot personally.

I really hope the deal works out because I would love my favorite character in the MCU proper. He was a huge part of Civil War.

They'd be stupid not to put spiderman in the mcu now. People are expecting it with all these leaks coming out. They just need to do the thing that will make them billions and that's putting spidey in marvel.

Sony is close to being bankrupt, why share profit with Marvel when all they need to do is make a great script and hire someone who understands the character to make a badass Spider-Man film for them. Selling to MCU should always be last option, once they can't make a dime off the most popular superhero out there.

That leak about the a reboot and the list of directors they had in mind sounded great. Imagine a Brad Bird directed Spider-Man movie?

You know man, I know you like FOX and X-Men and love to downplay the MCU but you say some stuff that really leaves me to wonder if you are just trolling. You can't really think that YET another reboot by a company that can't do justice to the character, would be better than reverting the rights back to Marvel/Disney who are currently making billions on critically acclaimed movies that everyone seems to love.

Do you say these things just to be a contrarian?
