Scaly Lizard Effects Spotted On Rhys Ifans

and first Look At Sally Field As Aunt May

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Damn, when I watch this movie I'm not going to see Aunt May, I'm going to see Sally Field. I was hoping they would do some make up and a wig or something.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

whats with the green hand sock?

In the movie, The Lizard creature spawns from Dr. Curt Connors' hand via an ancient and CURSED sock puppet he tries on.

It's based on USM (seems that needs repeating) Which is more "hip" than the 60's storyline. And in the USM comic aunt may is more Modern than the nice old lady in those days. She's more Laidback yet still firm. USM was a really good comic.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Yeah, I read USM and know this is based more on that, but that Aunt May was still all gray and looked older more geriatric than Sally Field.

USM was the only good Ultimate comic when I finally dropped them all. It's the only title I kinda miss too.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Says who?

Brian Michael Bendis consulted with Sony and Marc Webb before production even started. Take that as you like. But when you look at how things are shaping up, it's also blatantly obvious. (based loosely is a more accurate statement.)

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I had imagined that she'd look like she did in Forrest Gump (near the end). Guess they couldn't find her wig.

Oh well it's not as odd as Diane Lane as Milfa Kent.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Yeah, USM sure did suck.

:slap

I went back and read the first 30 issues or so (TPB) a few mos ago. Really enjoyed it.

Actually in my opnion it wasnt that good they kinda f'd up Green goblin, venom and carnage. They also made spidey alittle to damn strong agaist his villians. Then they made doc ock control freakin metal it was just stupid to me.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I wouldn't worry about any of that. I think they're using USM for basing Peter off of more than anything.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Realistically other than Watchmen has any comic book movie stayed true to it's inspiration? It's all made up by some screewriter with loose ties to various comics anyway. They could say this was loosely based on Peter Porker: The Spectacular Spider-Ham and it still would come out to whatever Webb is planning to put on screen.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Weren't Watchmen and 300 both Graphic Novels though? ;)

I think adapting a Comic book SERIES is a lot more difficult. Especially ones that go back 50+ years and have had SO many different writers/artists go in different directions/looks... So this will be Webb's VERSION of that character BASED on it's varied history.
