First Superman, now Pete, what the hell is with this "hobo chic" in the latest comic book films?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Wow, garfield looks weird as as parker in a bunch of these pictures.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I think spidey's suit is pretty damn cool. And way closer to the comic book look of him. And we've only seen one official (bad) pic of CW. It will look different on film then in the picture you posted.

I like that one too. I don't know why people dislike it that much.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

What's with Parker's lack of glasses and him sporting an emo mop of hair? I don't like it. He doesn't look like a nerd. Isn't Parker supposed to be a nerdy guy when he's in high school? That's fine if he grows out of it when he's in his college years but I loved how awkward and silly Raimi and Macguire portrayed Parker. I loved a lot of things they did with those first two movies. I was really looking forward to seeing Raimi's shot at redemption with a fourth and fifth movie. Was hoping to see Lizard in there eventually and more Bruce Campbell cameos.

Not having high hopes for this. I am against the total reboot and retelling of the origin story so soon. I am not in love with any of the cast or designs I've seen. I might give it a go in the theater. But more likely than not will wait for Redbox. I'll save all judgment for the movie itself then. But the trailer and promo stuff leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I've loved the suit since I first saw it. Just feels very "spiderman" to me. I think it looks great and love all the spiderman esque poses in the shots we've seen so far. When I first heard they were re-booting I though it was ridiculous but I was never a fan of Raimi's movies anyway so really hoping this works out well. I like what I've seen/heard so far.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

if you watch the trailer he does have glasses.

Hrm. I saw it once. All I remember was stuff about his parents and some really awful FPS sequence.... I guess he ditches the glasses after getting the (apparently amazing) eyesight of a spider?

Yeah, wasn't it the same in the Raimi film though too? After he wakes up all ripped and muscley, puts on his glasses and realises he doesn't need them.

:exactly: I guess I didn't make it clear I made that connection in my last post.

Maybe. becuase in that shot we see right now he has his spider powers. Besides he seems more like a social outcast then a nerd in this movie.

That's where the Edward Cullen comparisons are coming from. Can't say I don't see the comparison... Hoping it's nothing but shady marketing hoping to appeal to the current teenage girl and nothing more.
