Prometheus looks interesting but it doesnt look as good as movies that are coming out this summer. I agree that spidey looks underwhelming but I'm waiting on this trailer on thurs to make my final descision.

Prometheus is a completely different genre and type of film, not one to compare with Spidey

I can't think of any film coming out this summer that looks half as good as Prometheus....go take a look at all of the recent goodies in the thread.

The Hobbit is the only thing I can think of that will be on Prometheus' scale...maybe Skyfall, Idunno.


I am too eagerly awaiting the new Spiderman trailer though..

Well you see im not so sure about that. I'm not really a huge alien fan. I like the franchise but for me atleast I just find it to be just another way to get alien back on track which I want very badly since alien should be respected. The new trailer looks very promising and I will catch it in theater's.

Spidey 1 and 2 were awesome. I remember everyone loving both of them. I was confused about Spidey 3 when I first saw it. I had to see it twice. Then I realized I hated it. As a result, it's hard to enjoy the first two knowing that there's no real solid conclusion to the Peter/Harry relationship.... But does that make them bad? Not at all. They're still the same movies as they were when they first came out.

You all loved the Spider-Man flicks back in the day. Saying you didn't would be a motha ____in lie. You're all like children in that regard. The old thing is old, and now you have a new toy. So you throw the old one away because you can't accept having both.

Simple as that. Movie could be alright. But that doesn't make the fans of it already any less crazy, and it doesn't make the fact that the movie could be a total piece of dump.

OR it could be that once the the glitter of a new movie wears off, people can accurately assess it for what it is. Raimi has a very distinct style, that personally, im not a fan of. I enjoyed the novelty of finally seeing a spiderman movie in theater, but it has aged like vinegar, less like wine. the dialogue was unabashadly terrible, the effects were bad (even for the standards of the time), and the characters were cutout versions of themselves. when i look back on dark night, or x2, those have aged as well as when i first saw them, because they were good movies. spiderman hasnt fared so well.

Welp after seeing the new batman trailer I cant help but feel that spidey might not be that good. I'm torn

On one side I want spidey to be sucessful and stomp tdkr and on another I want batman to be the best comic book movie this year. Its just better to like both I understand but this new spidey film needs to show me alot of cool stuff this tursday.

Just watched 2 again today. I was thinking it set a pretty high bar for Amazing Spider-man. One of the great superhero movies out there.

I remember thinking 3 was just OK.

I never said I was not objective.

I'm not for this movie at all BECAUSE it's a reboot of a franchise I enjoyed. And I don't feel like it should've been restarted so soon. Or at all.

Now, if they just got a new cast, and just took it off from there, fine. Cool. Still too soon.

Spider-Man 3 is still in the public eye. Maybe not for the better, but it's not shelved and buried like Batman and Robin was.

People are bashing the ____ out of this movie, saying how batman and avengers will kill anything this summer. Spidey along time ago was the best superhero franchise out and Now.

People need something to bash or ignore, Avengers and Batman are hot ____ right now, so Spidey had been renegated to the one to bash sadly.

It'll work in it's favour i think, less hype and expectations lead to a more enjoyable experience. Happened that way last year

Not long ago Nolan batman was under spiderman 2. People praised spidey 2 as the best superhero film of all time
