I don't think ASM will beat that personally. (and i'm not a big fan of the Raimi films) I expect ASM to top SM1 by a tad. It's the ASM sequel that has to live up.

I expect this will be the best SM movie to date. Hopefully it will do huge numbers at the box office. I'd love to see the Sinister Six in the second or third movie.

^ In many ways it seems as though SM3 was by a different team alltogether.

In SM2 they were clearly setting up Doc Connors as a featured character to become Lizard and i though John Jameson to bring back Venom from space, but by the time SM3 came both of those were thrown out. I hate how the symbiote happened to land right next to Peter, a scene with Spider-Man saving the astronauts would've been a million times better.
