Watched the 4 minute preview tonight on NBC. I must I'm not that excited for this. They have big shoes to fill with this movie and I see this as a possible summer flop.

There's no way it'll flop. It's Spider-Man. It's going to make money based on the character alone. How much money is still to be determined. I predict $350 million for domestic.

I'm probably wrong. But it would surprise me if it did. Common folk that packed avengers and likely batman will not flock to this movie. The main cast of spiderman alone is questionable. The common popcorn flick fan has no idea who the hell he is. Even I just know him as that dude from the social network.
This just has so much going against it. We will see. Unless people rave about it I will wait. Im not wasting valuable sitter time on this after what I briefly saw tonight.

Yeah, there was a bit of pop in the audience when I saw it with The Avengers at midnight.
TDKR got the silence, and cheers. And Prometheus got a lot of murmers "Dude, that looks scary!" kinda stuff.

I think this movie will be fine and I think it will do better than it might have because TA has done so well. People might go now that wouldn't just to see if its as good.

I don't really care if this movie flops. Never understood why the film that makes the most at the BO is "TEH BESTEST" I'm just hoping for a good spidey flick, which this is looking to add up to be.
More people should just be excited we're getting a new and hopefully better spidey than SM3.

I said my piece and I will move along. I will be back to either say I was right, say I was wrong, or give my review should I decide to see it.

Seriously i couldn't disagree more and it's not cause of my avatar or sig. I'm already on record saying it will only be a tad better than SM1.
Plus the fact that you say it has big shoes to fill. Where i and a lot of people find the Raimi films to be Mediocre at best. (SM2 being the best) This film already FEELS more Spider-Man just from the trailers than the Raimi films to me.
