Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

half-mask.jpg

If they REALLY needed to show emotion THAT bad on Spiderman, they could've done something like this. For example, during the train scene, they could've let him keep his mask on while showing half of his face without the mask for a few seconds. That would show what he looks like underneath the mask, and allow them to get back to the full-real mask without putting on/removing anything. If the mask or face looks wrong or too CGI during this, screw it.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I hope the next Spiderman movie is called Peter Parker and he doesn't wear his costume at all. :lol

Oh, and I hope it's a prequel set 5 years before he gets his powers, it's about his life in middle school. :lol

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Vader isn't the best example because he's a very cold, emotionally controlled character. Not seeing his face is actually an advantage to the performance. That's not the case with Spidey which is why in artwork the artists often do that cheat where they change the size of the eyes on the mask to convey emotion which you can't do in live action.

i use Vader as an example because as you said, he is very cold and emotionally controlled... but think back to the scene where the Emperor is zapping Luke... Vader's compassion comes pouring out of the frame!

i can understand one key unmasked scene to punctuate a dynamic... but the new Spider-Man trailer hints at more than a few. i grew up reading Spider-Man comics and there was plenty of emotion conveyed through ink and print...

:goodpost::goodpost::goodpost::clap:lecture

the carjacker scene in asm is a good example of showing emotion through a mask

What emotion did he show? He just cocked his head and said some snippy comment.

That's not acting.

Now, Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach. That was acting with a mask.

But it helped we could see his mouth move, and the ink blots reflecting his emotions.

Problem with these Spidey suits is, you can't see that.

O boy here you come. The way he cocks his head, moves his hands and moves his body after shooting the webs is great acting. Not as good as the satch but still better than just standing there and talking like tobey did when he was in the suit.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Bullllllllllllllpoooooppppyy.

And i'm not even praising Tobey for that either. He (or the stuntman) didn't do much of anything in the suit. You cant see ANY emotion in those suits, outside of hand gestures.

He could've been like this during every scene.

But we would never know. :lol

They really should've either CGIed facial movement, or made the masks skin tight. For both flicks.

lol bet people will still go to theaters to see it though

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Nah, he was great in Spider-Man. But he aint the reasons why the first two flicks were awesome.

Andrew probably will be better, but I still have zero faith the flick can be any good. :D

It may have a few good scenes but overrall it probably wont be good they showed alot in the trailers feel like I saw the movie already

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Notice in that "Tobeyface" clip how there are ZERO clips of him from Spider-Man and only a couple from Spider-Man 2. The majority of the footage is from Spider-Man 3.

Nuff said.

I liked the stage set up for the Amazing Spider-Man last night. It was pretty cool with the Spider-Man image, eyes and the web lighting. The Prometheus and Dark Knight Rises set ups were also impressive.

What stage setups are you referring to?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Music reminds me of Kick-Ass....it's too whimsical. I don't really like it.

Much prefer Elfman's tune.
