Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

The WalMart DVD is pretty lame. It seems like the First Look doc I saw before Avengers and the "scene" they show is the carjacker scene we've already seen in the previews. Worse is that if that's the scene we're getting, they've changed the, "You found my weakness.... IT'S SMALL KNIVES" line. Now he just rambles before shooting a cascade of web balls at the thief. :monkey1

Does he say "Not a knife. NO. Not a Knife! My Weakness!" in the Walmart version like he did on the MIB 3 6 minute preview?

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Any Green Lantern comparison means this movie isn't anywhere near the quality of Avengers.

dont expect it to be near the avengers but it should at least be better then spiderman 3 .

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Wrong, multiple green lantern comparisons would be, just one is not.

Well, I was speaking generally, like that one review (or impressions) that said that the first movie that comes to mind in similarity is Green Lantern.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I'm hoping it's the latter, but I'd take no fun in it because I don't like to make fun of people with learning disabilities.

I didn't think Green Lantern was all that bad but I'm at a loss to see how ASM would compare to a story like GL. So I agree with it probably being the latter. :huh

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

Well I think Reynolds' smart alec personality and attempts at witty dialogue has some parallels to Spidey. Of course, in the comic, that was always a trait of Spidey. Never really applied to comic Hal, but. . .I think that as far as DC characters go, Reynolds is much better suited to Booster Gold than Hal Jordan.

Yeah I can't really comprehend the comparison either, from any aspect other than humor, like karamazov mentioned.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

I'm pretty sure that guy is just pissed cause of the origin.

(comic purists will be, myself i don't care too much)

Yup and i've been anticipating changes with this for a couple years. Like i said a new take, SM for the 21st century. Kinda like USM when it first came out.

The origin has been tampered with. Question is CAN YOU DEAL WITH THAT?

:rotfl

I dunno, we'll see.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man

^ I can. I never cared. I like organic webbing, loved non goofy face Goblin.

Comic accuracy doesn't bother me, as much as not sticking to the spirit of the character.

The Deadpool script isn't comic accurate, but the core spirit and tone of the character are still intact. As is the tone of the comics.
