The example of your wife's iPhone and iPad was posted to illustrate your point that she wasn't having issues, even though you really don't know because you don't have any experience with them after the update.

I installed the updates and I've used both devices every day, I just don't use them constantly like she does, because I have my own devices. Like your post, it was anecdotal.

Some people just want to complain, so if that applies to you, a disclaimer would have been nice.

Half of your comments brush off what others have said so that you can post your believed superior position or knowledge.

If you have an axe to grind let's grind it outside this thread. I post because I'm interested in helping. But I'm not interested in helping those who aren't interested in being helped. Let's just leave it at that.

Your wife's products working has no relevance toward mine not working. I wasn't requesting your help in this situation, because you don't have the answer. No one knows why the landscape/portrait issue is affecting some phones and not others. We don't need to discuss this outside the thread because your part of the discussion wasn't necessary on the first place. You don't have to try to solve people's problems when you don't have the answer. I posted the information about my issue because people should be aware of it. End of story.

No one else needs to be aware of an issue affecting your phone. Seriously, you don't see the double standard here? At this stage, I wouldn't bother recommending any steps to try and address your issue anyway. Maybe you should try your luck with the same attitude talking to someone at Apple to see how far you can bend their patience.

This isn't a Pixelpiper decides what's allowed thread. Other people are commenting with issues that are affecting their phones so don't single me out. My issue isn't a one-off and my "complaining" is actually just a comment on an issue that appears to be a bug that other people may have to varying degrees and I was curious to hear from other people who may be having the issue. You and your wife obviously aren't having the issue so you have nothing to contribute to the topic. Now go berate the others that have posted issues with the new IOS to show equality and leave me out of it.

Cheer up buttercups. Quit with the drama. It's just a toy forum. When people ride on someone for something as petty and small on a toy/statue message board, it's usually because something larger is the root of the problem.

I am thinking of upgrading to the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus. Nearing the end of my contract. How much longer does the 5S have for life in terms of companies making software that will run smoothly for it. I wished I had the patience to wait on the 5 in 2012, because the 4 has been running like a b-word for the past year and a half. Don't want to make that same mistake again.

With a 64 bit processor and Touch ID the 5s still has plenty of juice left. If I had the 5s I would hang on to it until the 6s comes out. It's fast enough to run all the apps and that should be the case for at least another product cycle.

I have the space gray 64GB.

I experienced none of the issues you have. My gf has complained of her phone getting hot (gold 6).

I've been using my phone all day (5AM - now 6:45PM) and I'm at 33% battery - single charge.

Additionally, my phone charges pretty fast.

I'll keep an eye on my girlfriends phone to see if she experiences the same issues as you.

Just a thought, what phone carrier do you use? I'm on Sprint and she is on AT&T.

Yes, I'm also on AT&T. Grandfathered unlimited data, so I really have no choice, lol. For as much hate as they get, they have been great to me.

I did the complete battery cycle, and it seems that the overheating problems are only happening when I play music after a while. Weird. Apple told me all of that will be fixed soon, that everybody has different issues but itbis not uncommon.

Also, I've noticed that charging my 6 with the iPad adapter does it WAY faster, something that wasn't the case on my 5S or anything before it. It's drastically faster.

General Zod:

My iPad Air, 64GB WIFI+ LTE was also showing that problem after installing IOS8. Not only when switching from landscape to portrait (maybe not to the degree you are saying) but there was certainly lag. Not only that, closing apps, going from settings>whatever and then back, etc. Lag lag lag.

I backed it up on my Mac and then restored it and the problem is gone. Hopefully that works for you. Mine shows very little lag now, almost unnoticeable. I'm sure everything else will be fixed later.

So nobody but myself has experienced IOS8 Yahoo mail not being pushed to their Iphone mailbox??

It should go another few cycles easily because of the above, but also very importantly because it has 1GB of RAM, which is still the same amount featured on the iPhone 6. The same should apply to the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 4 was cut off this year not so much because of its slower processor (iOS8 is not slower than iOS7), but because it only has 512MB of memory and multitasking apps and caching in Safari were already pushing the limits. iOS8 is going to use more memory with third party extensions, widgets and keyboards, plus more Apple background services.

Tapatalk crashes a lot lately and the feed update is terribly slow. My niece go to a Christian school where they have to use Ipads and they were told NOT to update at all. I don't know why maybe Jesus forbids it!

Every version of Tapatalk has an inordinate amount of problems under any OS version, so this isn't surprising. I use it, but as little as possible.

I may try restoring either my iPad Air and my 6 to see if that works, and if so, I'll do the other one. If that doesn't work, I'll just wait for Apple to put out the next bug fix update. I don't use the feature purposely very often--it's really only annoying when I accidently turn it sideways while moving. Neither device has frozen though, just varying lag times before it'll switch back ranging from 5-10 seconds to a couple minutes.

They've been good to us as well. We have a family plan that has unlimited talk, text, and data so we're not going anywhere.

That's ridiculously awesome, I live in the Black Hills of Deadwood South Dakota and WildBlue charges me 100.00 a month for satellite internet for 15 gigs of data. It is so slow and I use it for my Wifi for my iphone. I wish we could get that 100 megs out here :(

It's a pretty sweet deal. Since its a better plan that we could get anyplace else we just stay plus they have good service at least for us. Our home internet is through Comcast and I think we get like 50mb downloads and like 10-12 my uploads.

Be careful when carrying the 6 in your pocket. It's so thin it just might..
