Looks photoshopped.

It does. But there are a lot of posts about bent iPhones. Aluminum bends and without the vertical sides, it's likely to take much less force to cause this type of damage. Back or front pocket will do it. This particular image looks like a front pocket bend while some other ones have only a very gradual bow which look like back pocket.

It seems like you'd have to put a fair amount of pressure on it to bend a phone. Are these people having it stick out of their picket like they've got a boner? :lol

I always carry my phone in my front pocket.

That could be a big problem--I've never heard of other phones having bending issues.

No one else sells close to the number of a single model phone as Apple. Nowhere close. Plus no one covers other phones in the media like they do Apple. About the phones themselves, most other phones are also plastic which will flex but won't stay bent. Or they'll break. There is no other phone on the market with a unibody enclosure like the iPhone's.

I haven't seen all the photos, but I expect this problem is primarily with the larger 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus. More surface area, more leverage, same material thickness as the smaller model...

I just read an article that Steve Jobs said the iPhone six has been his biggest success and is parallel with his secret role on last seasons The Walking Dead

It sounds like you put some serious time into exploring every bit of each device and iOS, and came into the whole experience with a totally open mind. Above all you've clearly distilled precisely why so many people prefer Apple's phones.

Guess what you just distilled? :wink1:

At the moment, there's way more of single models of phablet type Android phones out there than there are iPhone 6+, people would certainly notice this type of issue.

If this is happening from simply being in your pocket, then it's a serious issue, it's barely been out and I can imagine that over time it could happen to phones where people aren't having them in their pocket for most of the day like the current cases are.
And the regular iPhone 6 is the same design, just smaller so it would be susceptible too though not as likely.

Just an update on the lagging landscape/portrait issue I was having: restored both the 6 and iPad Air from last syncs with iTunes and they still ended up lagging. In fact, the page orientation started changing by itself if I was in an app and got a notification from another app (like Mail), going from portrait to landscape then not allowing me to switch the orientation back to portrait. Turned both off, let them sit for a couple minutes, restarted, and haven't had the issue again. My brother had the same thing happen with his 6 so he did the same thing and no issue now either. I can switch orientation immediately now several times in a row with no problem so I hope it holds up.

Classic right here from the Macalope. Use this one when someone brings up the subject of "but Android phones are…" or "My Android phone does/is…"

Look, all you need to do is get an Android phone from HTC for build quality. Then get an Android phone from Sony because their cameras are so good. Then get a Galaxy Note from Samsung for the largest screen. Then get a Nexus from Google to get a decent software experience. Finally, get a phone from Hauwei because they’re cheap. Then mash them all together and you’ve got one phone that’s better than the iPhone!

Turned out to be less of an issue than the media portrayed. As of a few days ago there had only been 9 incidents reported to Apple. I would still advise against putting the 6+ in the pocket of snug jeans. A case helps though.

So, AT&T is doubling your data if you are on a mobile shared plan 15GB and above...

Still won't give up my "unlimited" just yet.

Yeah! **** you AT&T!

Well, not really, they've been pretty good, lol.

Question to iPhone users: what is your monthly bill like?

I have two iPhones on my plan, $130 a month plus tax.
One has unlimited data, the other 300MB (she rarely uses data outside of wifi)
550 minutes that have become a million because of rollover
Unlimited text.

I think it's a hell of a deal all things considered.
