Matt Reeves hasn’t said much about The Batman during his War for the Planet of the Apes interviews, mostly because he hasn’t started working on it yet. But in a new video interview with New Trailer Buzz, Reeves gave us the biggest clue yet as to what fans can expect from his Batman movie.

“There’s a chance to do an almost noir driven, detective version of Batman that is point-of-view driven in a very very powerful way, that will hopefully connect you to what’s going on inside of his head,” Reeves said.





I'm really, really excited for the "World's Greatest Detective" aspect of Batman to be explored.

Oh man. I want to see some ******* BATGOD action. I'm sick and tired of neutered Batmen. Give me the Over-the-Top All-Star version and ****... Obviously I'm kidding (or am I?). This sounds sweet. I hope they can pull it off.

EDIT: On the subject of All-Star, I think some bombastic "no ****s given" super-hero flicks would be fun. An Ultimates or Ultimate Captain America movie. The afformentioned All-Star Batman. The Authority. The "wide-screen" approach could really work if done right.

Hell how can he even be a detective hunting the joker when the guy is at clubs and owning expensive houses and driving a stand out purple lambo.

Something bad happens and Batman would know fifty places to find him.

I want the joker who stays at the abandoned amusement parks . I love that.

Not difficult to find a guy that's as public as the Joker in SS. Plus, all the street-level criminals would be talking about the guy with ****** tattoos that purrs at them and does a solid Ace Ventura impression.
