Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

Just been watching BvS UE again, and damn, I really, really like this movie.
The photography is beautiful, the action sequences are great, there are some amazing scenes and moments in it. It's just such a great slow burn of a movie. All these little moments building up to that final confrontation, how Luthor orchestrates every little detail to pitch Batman against Superman, and all the while they have no clue that he knows exactly who they are.
The entire opening sequence, as Wayne runs helplessly through the destruction of Metropolis and sees first-hand the power of these aliens... no superhero movie had ever shown something like that.
The news montage showing how the world and the media try to cope with with the idea of such a being among us, it's unique.
And there's great acting in it: how Wayne (or rather Batman) goes from "I'm a slightly drunk womanizer" to "I'm dead serious" in a heart beat is fantastic.
What a shame people and critics couldn't look past the movie's flaws to see just what a great and unique thing Snyder and the entire production gave us.

This is how I feel the more I watch it (BvS UE) the better it gets...the slow burn is fantastic and I love how bruce snaps out of it in the end. Sometimes it only needs a word from someone to calm you down and see sense. It really is a pity that this was savaged because its a gem of a movie. Ps I love Marvel to:lol (EXPECT IM3,Ultron and Thor 2)

I have easy life. I like every movie based on comics. I'm just happy they do this stuff. It's fantastic relax and fun. From Avengers to Suicude Squad. I just think we are lucky to live in this good time, we can see all the heroes from books on the silver screen and enjoy their stories.

BvS is such a weird movie.

It's definately not the masterpiece that some would lead you to believe but it's also not the disaster that the professional critics claimed it to be

I am 70/30 in favor of it.

Ok maybe 65/35 lol

2 weeks from now you'll love it, a month from now you'll hate it! that's just how the jye rolls mofos! :lecture

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

BvS is not a bad movie it just was not the movie many expected when we all heard these two great characters were meeting for the first time. Snyder never should have killed Superman. It was too early for this version to get the reception he did. We never really get to feel his connection to the people he's saving or his personality. Cavill's Superman always seems to be sulking. Can anyone show me one time in BvS where he seems optimistic about anything? When DC did the doomsday story we had years of backstory and connections to superman to feel something. After one movie where he helps demolish a city getting women and children killed and being an unwitting observer to the killing of congress, I really don't get how a lot of people would be sad that he's dead.

Well not every movie can be perfect where it's an instant life long love affair with it.

Unfortunately since BvS isn't perfect it's only natural that I would have fluctuating mixed feelings about it.

Re: The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves...again

BvS is not a bad movie. It's a movie people online agreed to believe was bad because it was the bandwagon thing to do. It's society at it's worst. The same society that thinks movies like Ant-Man & Civil War are great movies.

No, that's not true at all. And honestly a very patronizing opinion. We don't hate it because we are brainwashed lemmings incapable of making up our own minds about films. We hate it because it is a crappy film that was boring, too long, tonally inappropriate, and a bizarre mish mash of pseudo-intellectualism and overblown metaphors. If there seemed to be a bandwagon for hating it, its only because so many people recognized its many, many flaws.

You are essentially saying that everyone that hated it was just too stupid to form an opinion, while all the people that liked it (like you) were an intellectual elite. Seems to be smugness at its worst if anything.

Yes, for some people it can be tough to acknowledge that their own opinion is inherently no more valid than anyone else's. I do think there is a great deal of "opinion bias" and that people will be quick to piggyback on any criticism against a movie or franchise that competes with one they support. However that opinion bias is simply a result of them loving something else that they feel is being threatened and not a result of their opinions being "stupid."

There's nothing inherently dignified about a superhero movie that tries to be an Oscar winning Western or crime drama. In fact an argument could be made that movies like Logan and TDK are even sillier for trying to make something serious out of something so ludicrous. But that argument isn't inherently true either. It all comes down to personal preference and how you behave when the people in charge of films don't elevate your own singular opinions over the opinions of anyone else on the planet and/or how you behave when others' with opinions just as valid as yours *do* get the films they want.

Some people have the proper perspective and can simply handle it, for others it's a very difficult struggle.

Please make believe that I inserted the Goldblum "Well, there it is" gif, i'm just not in the mood to go thru the required steps.

Thank you for your cooperation.
