The Batman (June 25, 2021)

I was just watching Batman '89... visually stunning in its Joker color palette but what a mess of a film and awkward acting throughout.

I have to admit that Nicholson's buffoonery in nearly every scene really hurts the movie. He looks great, always, but between weird lines, mugging it up, fart noises, and nonsensical motivation, he's really a strange creation. Much more in the Adam West camp than I felt in 1989. And he really does feel like something out of a Schumacher movie. But still.... he looks so great that I actively work throughout the movie to forgive much of his nonsense.

I would love to see Nicholson Joker, Ledger Joker and Phoenix Joker all in a room together plotting how to get rid of Batman. They're all SO very different.

They could have still kept young and kept him in the same continuity by doing the death in the family / red hood plot line which they eluded to in BvS.

Nobody at the studio cares about keeping continuity with BVS anymore. I don't know why some fans still think this is a concern for them. They've washed their hands of it.

What gave it away was it the mobster who burned into a full clean skeleton straight out of a cartoon lol

True especially after Joker.

Aquaman barely mentioned it and I doubt BOP will bring it up.

I love returns more. I was like 2 when it came out. Remember how ****ed up it was . Never liked 89 Batman to much. Joker in that movie reminds me to much of trump if he went absolutely crazier than he already is.
I also just don?t like the damn toxic chemicals origin. It was always stupid and will forever be stupid. I like joker to be a mystery not some dude who fell into bleach factory and went crazy.

I love the heath and pheonix joker?s cause it shows that anybody could be the joker if pushed to far and that crazy when gone unchecked can be dangerous

While true, doesn't that make him less unique? I mean if anyone can be the Joker doesn't it become a bit meh? Clearly not just anyone can be Batman.

Same can be said about dropping into a vat of chemicals. Anyone can drop in them. I look at it as joker just goes more extreme than anyone else . No one can reach that level of crazy.

That?s why in the dark knight he was trying to turn everyone just like him cause he wanted to prove people can reach his level of crazy
