Those guys weren't smooth though. I mean, neither bedded any women... I preferred the smooth heroes, like Connery. Cool, wealthy and desired by women seemed like the ideal adulthood to me. I had no interest in muscling up, going into warzones and screaming at the sky as I gatlin'd down a choppa. Indy was rugged enough for me. And he could form a cohesive sentence.

Bond and Indy were woven inextricably into the whole male role model thing; I think they were more relatable to me physically whereas Arnie and Sly were the jocks you should have hated but whose badass strength you admired. Bond girls blew my mind before I even knew what I wanted to do with them.

I remember the first crushes I had as a child, (Samantha from Bewitched, Princess Leia, Charlie's Angels, Daisy Duke, Chrissy Snow) but can't remember whose smooth moves I wanted to emulate. Probably Bond, most likely Roger Moore since my first exposure to 007 was The Spy Who Loved Me.

Samantha was hot... but I found Jeannie to be the hottest... also seemed like she be the wildest in bed, so eager.

And despite the toxic male agenda, how can you not love Yes Master.


That all said, bringing it back to Batman... its all about that Newmar Catwoman.

At least it's tangentially related to the design of this upcoming contemporary Batman. ...the dark textures on the initial reveal have a bit of a tech feel but they're also kind of weird and spooky with the stitching and ... err ... pointy bits, with that noir-ish collar he wouldn't be out of place in a Burton flick. Which begs the question, will Catwoman get a real costume in this movie? I'm not sure how it'd work unless he kitted her out for some dangerous mission they were teaming up on, but that's way too convenient and Bats going Full Stark and dressing his lady friends is just weird, if you think about it.

I really enjoyed this trailer. Of course it does suffer the same "did anyone ask for this" stigma as Solo before it but also like Solo I'm looking forward to this after seeing the trailer.

It feels like a movie from an alternate universe 1995 where David Fincher directed Batman Forever instead of Se7en.

It does feel like this is swinging back toward the more Gothic feel of the original Burton Bats. And I think that's a good place to start.
